July 5, 2005 Certain 2004 F250/F350/F450/F550/Excursion/E350/E450 trucks equipped with 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel Engines are being recalled for PCM reprogramming and replacement of the Exhaust Pressure sensor and in some cases the EP sensor connector depending on vehicle type and build date.
The sensor will most always need to be removed to be inspected. The Navistar part number and location are shown below. All sensors that do not have the indicated part number are to be replaced on the affected vehicles. The harness connector is to be replaced on certain vehicles due to suspected poor electrical contact. The procedure is simple and straight forward. Since the new wiring connector and pig-tail have all purple wires, care must be taken when splicing in the new connector to ensure the proper circuits are in the correct position.
