  1. That's a tough one, hope your recovery goes good. I am 45 and only had one shoulder surgery so far, I know how you feel about changing jobs. The doctor asked me if I plan on doing this the rest of my life, kind of put me in shock because I don't know what else to do for a living.
  2. Here's a good one. I put and 6.7 complete reman with turbo in and it came back a couple of weeks later with a big oil leak. Found an oil leak at the service port in between the outlet side and center section. Installed new turbo and found it will no hold vacuum when re filling the cooling system. Lucky I had the drain plug out when I was doing all of this because when I put coolant in it to pressure test it I found all the coolant running out the oil pan ! this is what I found on a new turbo ! 3. I am looking for the part # for the lower fuel filter housing shield on a 2017 f-250. My parts guys are telling me its HC3Z-9A032-N but I don't think thats right.
  4. I got a 2003 E-450 7.3 in for no start. I got it running in my buy and let it idle then it started to run rough and die. I tried re started and would not got, I checked icp and found that it is making good icp but not starting. I hook my gauge up to the pump and found no fuel pressure. I can hear the pump running so I tie into the back side of the pump. Unfortunately the bus has all the fuel lines replaced with a rubber type hose and some kind of bullshit filter right before the pump. I remove that and find that one of the hose's to the pump looks collapsed inside. I installed a new hose and now I have fuel pressure and the truck starts and runs. I drive it two different time and over 45 kms and found it running good. The owner takes it the next day and it die not even a block away. I was thinking that there might be more problems with the rubber hose so I take a small jug of diesel to run the truck on to get it back to the shop. It now will not suck any fuel up, not even right off the back off the pump. This is a brand new Ford fuel pump that was put on at another shop. I had good power to the power at the time I was testing, I haven't re check power to the pump yet but I can hear it running. What else can cause a restriction ? has any one had a plugged regulator cause this ?
  5. I just started wearing hearing protection in the last ten years full time. I switched to using a headphone style so its easier take them off to talk to people.
  6. We can't get either filter at this time, we started getting wix filters for the time being.
  7. I can't remember the last time I had the whole cab in the air, everything we work on lately has too many wires that make it not worth it. I cab tilt almost all my major engine jobs.
  8. That's crazy! Rich people playing monopoly, I would say you got two more owners left in you.
  9. Can you get extra time for the lower intake to be cleaned or replaced when doing this recall. A lot of the ones I have done before this recall I would sell both (cooler core and clean intakes) because of high idle times on trucks.
  10. Well I think it's fixed, the water drain was causing air to enter in the system. Someone replace the end gasket on the drain with two o-rings. We put a new one in and drove it for a long time and found it did not blow the sensor out. Very odd because I have see a lot of frame mounted fuel filters not fully installed and they did not cause this problem. If it come back I will update this.
  11. We have a truck that came to us with the fuel pressure/temperature sensor leaking. They told us that they have replaced 2 and it keeps leaking. So we put another sensor and pigtail and it started leaking again after about 5 minutes. I have never seen this but I guess there is some kind of restriction in the fuel line, the truck runs and starts good other wise. Has anyone else seen this ?
  12. We are on a roll of 2020 and up turbo's failing and everyone I have done I can't perform the re set function for the vgt and maf sensor re learns. Has anyone run into this ? I have tried 3 different computers all with the same fault. It keeps telling me the modules did not power down properly. I updated my FDRS to 34.6.1 or something like that and now give says there is no pcm information. Just wonder if anyone out has come across this.
  13. Well the job is done, went not bad just a lot of learning. I still can't get over the response I got from the hotline, they told me that even if the oil change is done properly it can still damage "the rub nub" in the oil cooler housing. How could they not update that part so that it doesn't damage the engine.
  14. Yep, they had two long blocks in Bramalea and nothing back ordered that I know about.
  15. The truck I am working on just turned into an engine job, They took the truck well I was waiting for parts and it came back locked up and full of metal.
  16. It is getting crazy, we have 19 bays and only 10 techs. It's very hard to get anything done because everyone is being ran thin and of course all the up front staff do is complain about how they can get anything done. It is sad because nothing will change. I just keep on doing me and that the best I can do.
  17. It has a ford oil filter in it, the guy how works next to me put one in last time. He was looking at it but is off work now so now I am working on it. I just don't have any reference of what normal oil pressure would be, I have a sensor coming tomorrow.
  18. I have a 2019 f-150 3.0 that set p0524 and put the low oil pressure warning on hot at Idle. With a manual gauge I have 20 psi at 1500 rpm so I am going tp try a sensor first. Spec is 14 psi at 1500 but does 20 psi sound low ?
  19. Not sure, I got the truck half torn down from another shop with all the codes cleared. I replaced the cooler core, re pressure tested it before putting it back on the truck just to know it sealed. Seems to run good and is not building excessive pressure in the cooling system.
  20. I have never seen a 6.7 cooler do this, it was a 2014 f-350 77B6340E-4FC9-42A6-AD3E-F0A67BCBA63A.mov
  21. We have not sold a lot of trucks with the 7.3, but the one customer I know who went from a 6.0 E450 to 7.3 E450 is very happy with it.
