I did a starter on a 6.7 2 weeks ago. I've always had issues getting them out and got to the point where I would always pull the oil filter adapter off to get it out. Well this one was in a flat bay and I didn't wanna make a mess, so I pulled the inner fender and somehow got it out and new one in with 20 minutes. If I remember right, once it's loose pull it straight back against the engine mount, the push the gear end up and twist at the same time will allow it to clear between the frame and eng
