KHFord
2012 f350 with 240,000km. Setting p0089 and p0093. When I first brought it is it would pass both the high and low pressure system tests but has a loud hissing noise in the engine bay (drivers side) when running the low pressure pump and when checking flow there was a lot of air bubbles. I could not find any problems with the lines and when i ran the pick up from a jug of fuel the noise went away. I found a post on here about cracked lines on the fuel sender so I went ahead and replace it, did not see any problems with it though. After doing that my air bubbles are gone but I still have the same hissing noise while running the pump and it is now failing the high pressure test. If I bypass the supply return line to the high pressure pump the noise is gone. I spent way to much time trying to find a crack in either of those lines with no luck and it doesn't have an external leak. Next I am going to pull the intake to get a closer look at the lines and check the pump for metal but just wanted to see if anyone has suggestions when checking for this noise. KHFord
The noise was due to the VCV being stuck open.
