trying to develop a trainee program in the diesel shop.i have several interested guy's from our quick lane that would like to learn.are there tips that you can give me to help get this started?i have one young kid that has a good head on his shoulders and takes direction well,manager of the quick lane speaks highly of him.just trying to develop a package to give to my bosses.any advice would help,thanks.

one of my tech's just put a complete 6.4l in and it made it 24 hours,came back on the hook with no oil pressure,started the teardown and found the nut on the turbo impeller had come off and started a chain reaction and destroyed 1 head and piston.took out bearings,etc....had a very unhappy tech

  turbo on a 6.0,head gaskets/coolers on a 6.0,low power concern on a 6.4,metal contamination on a 6.4,YAH ME

just got another 6.4 in today.several cylinders are down,SEVERE knock,popping thru intake.fun keeps coming.

how many 6.4's are coming in for repeat failure?i have a truck here that is on it's 4th complete motor in 2 month's.they all fail in different way's.

30 hours for every one I do.insurance pay's because they say this falls under an accident.

thanks for the advice.neither trucks ever failed again.we released back to owners,no issues yet.

have 2 trucks in the shop now 1 6.4l and 1 6.7l.i replaced egt sensor at firewall and the other truck had all sensors replaced.now we have intermittent stalling.has anyone else had an issue like this?
