  1. Have you done the procedure when you get the EGT temps above I think 300 degrees then let sit for 15 minutes. I think it used to be a ssm
  2. Probably a healthy mix of too much idle time and the check engine light was on to long causing the truck not to regen plugging the filter.
  3. I have seen a lot of right side up pipes but have only had two exhaust manifold leak, one on each side so far.
  4. Hard to believe but that's their stance on these types of failures
  5. I think cetane is right. I looked at the rear of the scr/dpf and it looks like it is starting to melt down. I did not find any liquid contamination in the downpipe. I put a new scr/dpf and a nox sensor, re set the tables, performed a dpf re set and had the key off for three minutes. Cleared all codes and road tested. Running like a champ now.
  6. The air filter was plugged( looks like it got wet ) the map sensor was plugged with carbon and I updated the PCM. I did the pinpoint tests for the two codes and did not find any other faults, I called the hotline and asked if there was anyway I could get it to complete a manual regen. They just told me it is too plugged up and that it will need to be replaced. My dpf pid reads 11psi at wot. The customer gave the go ahead for the scr/dpf if needed but I would like to try a fool the pressure sensor some how to see if I can get it to complete. I just don't know how I could fool the sensor yet.
  7. I have 6.7 with p2463 p246c that will kick me out of the manual regen and gives me code 18. I have tried five times to do a manual re regen without success. Code 18 is for the dpf excessively plugged. I was just wondering if anyone has run into this and been able to complete the manual regen and save the dpf. This truck has 152 000 kms and is out side warranty. I have the PCM up to date with ids 90.03 just to note.
  8. Every time I have been forced to use this shit it has come back leaking. Very poor quality!
  9. Big fan of Trent's music, that's cool you use hang out with him.
  10. I guess Ford will be keeping the E-350 and E-450 for heavy duty applications as the biggest transit you can get has a max gvwr 10360 lbs.
  11. Have you removed the map sensor to check the port to see if it is plugged with carbon.
  12. They don't have head gasket kits anywhere and no promise date for them, so it's hard to go the short block route. I find we haven't had to do too much work to get prior approval for a long block because of the lack of parts.
  13. http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2014/04/ford-will-continue-e-series-cutawaystripped-chassis.html So what happened to the bigger transit, did they have problems with it? Are they still going to make them?
  14. The guy next to me just put a turbo in and it did not have that mount either. It fixed the turbo noise, the wheel was hitting the housing.
  15. Wow ! nice find, I bet your happy this one is done.
  16. If they are aftermarket fuel injectors that's your problem. I have had no luck with aftermarket injectors, they don't seem to last.
  17. Take a look at the oil filter and see if you find metal.
  18. Nevermind just saw the pictures, for some reason they didn't load the first time I looked at the post
  19. Do you know who made the aftermarket head gasket. Are they all black or do they look like the Ford head gaskets just in black
  20. This is what it looks like. The seals swelled so much I could not even get the heat exchange out of the housing. The rubber part of the reservoir filter was swelled up as well
  21. I have seen the top oil feed line leak from the fitting.
  22. I had one that I was just doing coolers on and for some reason (I forget) I took the rad out and tried to flush it. I found that it barely flowed water yet the engine was not over heating during my road testing before the repair. Just like Jim talked about, coolant and air flow restrictions should be considered.
