  1. good point,if you had oil coming from the turbo with the cac off,would you then see smoke out the exhaust when everything is hooked back up,or would it all burn up in the cumbustion chamber if it was a small leak? I don't see much coking hear,most of the time it is just idle time and I have yet to see a turbo that is coked and not rusted
  2. so now I know I should read the whole regen tsb 07-4-11 not just bits hear and there,one of the things that will happen when it is in regen is white smoke, oh shit! I hate flat rate reading,gets me every time,oh well

  6. we have a truck that the cust told us sometimes it will fill the street with white smoke, the truck has no codes,has had the update,oil level does not look like it is over filling and evertime we get it we can't get it to smoke one bit,anyone come across this
  7. found the wiring diagrams,but they needed the truck so I don't know when I will see it next,I could not get it to stall on the one tank but I was just trying to dig into it a bit,I will talk to hotline as well
  8. the cust said that when he went to switch tanks it would not run but now that I am working on it it seems to be working,so I am trying to find the pinpoint tests so I can see if this is working or to see if it is just running on the one tank, i can't find any info on this set up?,where do you find the tests and has anyone come across? this truck did not come with two tnaks but was a ford add on at another dealer,thanks for any info

I can relate,I have one cust that does not call ahead,he just comes into my bay and tells me to come have a look at this truck,even if I in the middle of a job, It is very hard to make hours when I have custs that do this to me and will tell how much money he is not making by have his truck down at the shop
  11. I had one that was leaking in the lower part of the engine,It sounded like it was coming from the branch tube area,but the oil leak was from the dummy oil rail plug,the thing is it sounded like the branch tube was leaking,just one more thing to look at

  13. Thanks for the info guys,I am going to pull the head when I find some time(working on the branch tubes on an e-box) what is funny is it does not run bad,even at first start up,I will let you know what I find, thank again
  14. Chuck and Matt should make an info video,I would pay good money to hear them talk about what they know (being that they are engineers)and pick up some of there tips for diag.
  15. diablosport has a tuner out,they said it makes a stock truck run mid 14 teens, I guess no one can stop this,in the end it just makes our job harder
  16. just got a 1996 1.9L for cheap,but this thing is losing coolant, have to put about 1.5L everyother day,it looks like the oil level is going up but I am not 100%,where do these things leak from,in the cylinder head? I don't see anything leaking on the ground,
  17. how do your service advisors make out,at my place they make more money then most of the techs,there is only 3 out of the 18 that make more then the service advisors, I just don't get this?
  18. wow! body off 39 steps,but with the body on 156 steps,I have not worked on one yet but I don't get why they have to do the oil pan that way
  19. we had one but i did not work on it so I am not sure of the out come,I think that he found the drive seat module had a bad conection like the conector not seated all the way,I will ask him in the AM
  20. Jim,I had a known good ficm from an engine core,but three months later ford charged parts back the core beacuse it did not have the ficm,oh well I'll just have to wait till i get one on retail,so that might not be for a while.

  22. I had one leaking from the lower egr cooler hose,the hose clamp was loose
  23. just had one today,2005 f-250 100 000 km or so,p0611 p1378, I though is would be a wire chafe,but in the end a new ficm got it to start and not blow the fues,this is the first time I have seen this,are you guys running into to this alot? and should a still be looking for a chafe, a had a look but did not find anything yet
