  1. Sure. Having helped write the L2 twice, I can say for sure it's a totally different kind of test. It's like the L2, but for much lighter trucks (and diesel cars) whereas the L2 is a midrange/heavy test. Also, unlike the L2, it lacks a composite, which means many more systems are discussed, where the L1/L2 largely cover the composite vehicle, as you've said above. I'd say take it once, you'll realize there's a whole other world you may not be aware of. The best part about the ASE tests isn't whether you pass or fail, or the cute little thing you get for your wallet or wall, but the SCORECARD which helps show you the areas you're not so strong in. It should be worth taking for this reason alone.
  2. I'll add that modern fuel itself adds another variable: It's more hygroscopic than it used to be. That makes things interesting on our end.
  3. Exactly what I tried to make clear in my posts above. They CANNOT be using zinc galvanized tanks for diesel fuel.
  4. ALL 7.3 rollbacks have no power, but that's another issue, I suppose. Yours is worse due to either the high temp derate (325) or possibly a battery cable chafe at the frame pass through (possibly your 113 if not self inflicted). If the engine's not overheating (fan clutches fail often on these and radiators clog), check the positive cable where it leaves the battery box and pases right through a hole in the frame rail, the ECM/IDM power wire tends to chafe there. Also check the weatherpack connector at the starter. If you need more info email me.
  5. All the HEUI questions are yours, though....
  6. IH tanks do this, though. Maybe we can attribute this to the Blue Diamond Truck Company...
  7. Not on the inside of diesel tanks AFAIK. There's a lot of info on this issue, diesel fuel isn't like gasoline in this respect, and galvanized tanks aren't used in diesel applications for the most part.
  8. I wonder what all that zinc will do to the fuel system. AFAIK, there are no fuel tank makers that use galvanized fuel tanks. They're either painted steel, plasticised steel, aluminum or plastic. I'm not so sure galvanized will work.
  9. A Sprinter that blew out an injector. A 6.5 that has a miss. Another with a Passlock issue An F350 needing balljoints An F650 3126 with a bad ECM An 04 6.0 that "smokes black" And some trailers.....
  10. I don't know if you have the coffee table book for the 6.7 yet, but if you want it, let me know.
