KHFord
I am going to do an oil cooler replacement/egr delete on a friends 2004 6.0. Just looking for any recommendations on kits. I haven't dug too deep yet, can see a couple options through amazon but not sure what the quality is like.
lmorris
Typically the Egr delete is pretty basic, just don't opt to save money. I'd be concerned about the fit of the turbo inlet pipe on a cheap kit. Personally, I think the factory oil cooler is more than adequate with a properly maintained cooling system with a filter. Unless you are going with big horsepower upgrades. Same as above, don't cheap out. On a side note, I don't know your location, but here in Alberta, Canada, finding a decent tune is the biggest problem. Since the crack down on emission deletes in the States. The price of the tune software, not including the tuner hardware is over $1000.00. KHFord
Yes I have been noticing how hard it is to find the tune, I am just across the border into BC. Not doing any power upgrades, he has been wanting to do the EGR delete for a while and I figured we should wait until we had to go in for something else, and that time is now. I see kits from NPBoosted/Napol performance that seem like they may be okay. What's your thoughts on doing the EGR delete with out the tune?
