TRUCK-03 F-250, 6.0

HISTORY-been at three other dealers for this same concern. Towed in to me half torn apart,

per the last last guy quit after throwing a right hand head at it.Has had three sets of injectors, an Hp oil pump, IPR, ICP, 3 turbos

CONCERN- runs rough and misses.

MY EXPERIENCE- I found #3 injector dead-replaced

found ICPV. dancing from .6v-2.6vat 1800rpm.

found a piece of spring lodged in the right hp oilrail check valve. Replaced the check valve.

and inspected the IPR screen and left check valve both ok. RETESTED-fixed Ran great, service manager drove it home 2 days, and said it ran perfect. released it to the customer 2 days ago. recieved the call today from the stuttering mad customer, that its running the same way again. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/drinkingdude.gif

The spring piece resembled the ones in the check valves but both in the check valves were ok.

ANY IDEAS????

Ill try to post tommorrow and keep U updated.

I am assuming that you replaced the ICP sensor for the varying voltage but did you replace the harness connector? I have found a few that were the culprit but I have seen more ICP sensors coming apart and leaking oil. In that case I automatically install a pigtail connector because the wiring insulation begins to swell. Use the repair pigtail from the 05E15 recall.

Please do keep us posted!

No actually Kieth the stuck open check valve was causing the varing icp voltage,Icp sensor and conn. had been replaced previously. The customer

called thursday and said he dumped the truck at the Michigan auto auction.so more than likely I wont be seein it again.A big SORRY goes out to the next Guy. if any of you run into this thing let me know. Black Fx4 ext cab F-250 with dents in the tailgate.Ill post a vin if needed.

Ha,ha,ha, wow, the guy that bought the truck at the auction filed arbitration and my customer got the truck back. Now back in my Bay , I found

75psi compression on #6 cyl. I have the CVT class the next 2 days in detroit but Im pulling the head off fri. Hopefully exceeding the 9600 cost cap, and putting this headache to rest.

This must be "one of those" trucks that are just a problem from day-one. I have one or two of them. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rotz.gif No matter how well I repair them and look them over they just keep coming back and it's always something different for the most part. You alsomst want to blame the owner and sometimes you can but I honestly beleive that some trucks are born to be bad!
