I stumbled across this Canadian show "Corner Gas" the other day.

It is a surprisingly good show! Even being Canadian!

For those who haven't seen it, it's a sitcom who's main character owns the only gas station for 60 miles, in a town of only 500 people. Next door is a cafe' recently reopened. Various regular characters with their own personality quirks rotate through.

Makes me wonder what else I'm missing out on.. I'm getting ready to try out "ReGenesis" next...

I love that show. I'm glad they ended it on a high note, rather than waiting until the show ran out of ideas and got shitty. There have been a few spin-offs, but nothing can match the antics of Oscar Leroy and Hank Yarbo.

I was also quite surprised when I was sitting in a hotel room in St. Pete's Beach, Florida back in 2007 and saw a commercial for Corner Gas.

That show was filmed in Dwayne's home country. Talk about middle of nowhere! My wife and I drove past that area en route to a wedding in Winnipeg, I bet you could hear grass grow out there...

Well, we finished up the series the other day. Glad they finished it on a high...

The pink eye episode was the best, I think.

We're starting on ReGenesis now. It looks promising.

I'd never even heard of the series before you guys, but because of the chat here I got it from the library. We finished Season One so far and are a couple of episodes into Season Two. I like the episode with the portable sign best so far, where the final shot is Karen Slept With Hank.

My wife loves it, too, kind of like a modern Mayberry RFD. Good clean fun, little or no sex, and no laugh track.

That was a big selling point for us. My daughter can watch it with us, and there is no one telling you when the funny parts happen.

We're anticipating the start of the new season of Doctor Who in April. A scifi thriller, with a few lightly disturbing special effects - but no language or sex. Another one my daughter enjoys..
