not to be contrary.... but a simple volt drop test would have been much quicker and to the point.

 

I can only suggest that techs build a test board and get used to seeing volt drop readings in all their various contexts.

 

Go to the nonfunctioning load and check the volt drop across it... It will be system voltage, zero or somewhere in between. Step one will determine step two.

 

It's quick.. it's easy... and I wish I could bottle it and give it away.
