Anyway, I thought we might start keeping our eyes open for information on the subject of API CJ-4 oils. Here are a couple links to get us started. WGLR13MWZ Posted March 2, 2006 Share Posted March 2, 2006 I went to a seminar that Rotella reps held and they said the CJ-4 oil is going to be compatable back to around 1994-96 era. You will see alot of oil leaks due to the make up of this oil on older engines. I forget if it was b/c of gasket / seal material or wear, but I think it was gasket / seal material.
