Adding cruise control to a 2001 F450 7.3 manual trans...

Has anybody done this? I'm wondering if it uses the same PCM and just needs control switches, clutch switch, brake switch inputs?

I believe it's as easy as just replacing the steering wheel with the switches. All the other switches for clutch and brake are there and PCM is already set to accept it I do believe. Never had to do it myself, but I do remember reading something of it several years ago now.

I did it on my 97. I had to put the steering wheel switches in and I made a jumper for the deactivation switch instead of buying the new master cylinder and the switch. The connector for the deac switch was there.

I'll look in mine later, but I believe on that one you will need a different steering wheel. I'm not 100% aboutif the clock springs are the same either.

You are right. Ford used to sell kit p/n XC3Z-9A818AA to add cruise to these. It used to be relatively cheap, too. Now obsolete. It had a new steering wheel, clockspring, and I dunno what else.
