  1. I had to use oasis and the manual because there is nobody for me to ask which is good because I learn a lot from reading and find out about good fixes and TSBs. Some guys say it takes too much time but I say doing the job over takes longer. holding my own thank you!

  3. Keith nice article and the pictures are shocking I had one of these not too long ago that had rust and dirt in the tank with crap piled all around the vent too but I didnt look in the tank good enough to see if it looks like the pictures
  4. I just saw a Quigley when I was in Daytona and ran into a guy towing a trailer with a couple of quads. The guy camps out in the van and goes on the beach with it I guess to go riding. it looked pretty cool to me but what the hell did they do to the front crossmember? that looked pretty rough with the cutting and welding :hammer:
  5. I just got the new PtS newsletter and the main articale was about the IDS and making it more integrated by adding wireless connectivity to the PTS web site. We already do that with a wireless hub but the second part was the interesting thing. somehow you can click on a button for oasis quick start and the thing will get the vin from the truck and load it into oasis with any codes. thats cool!
  6. So how does this particulate filter work? is it anything like a cat converter or does it trap carbon and unburned fuel and burn it up. if thats the case why not call it an afterburner? i like that better /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif
  7. Thnx guys it is number three that burnt and bad too! I guess I will have to check the turbo or dont you think that a new long block deserves a new turbo even if you suspect it's causing problems? I dont want to relace this engine again on the same truck or have to replace the turbo after putting this thing back together /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif
  8. Hey guys we got a 6L in with a melted piston head Doess anyone know what causes one piston to burn up like that? It also looks like a valve h9it the piston but I dont think that was the reason and something probably got stuck in the valve as the piston started to come apart. Any ideas? thanks

  10. I read your new article abouut the fuel samples and it was good! But i dont get what fuel bugs are and what would they eat if they get oxigen from the water???? I thought algea was a plant!
  11. Thanx for the words of wisdom guys I got my stars id today. its only going to appen if make it happen i was trying to get in with my soc. sec. number but they changed it. I started the course on turbochargers and wow! this is not what i expected at all. this training on the computer is awsome.
  12. I watched the 4x4 esof course on fordstar a month or two ago and they demonstrated all of those tests. They also showed using the emissions smoke machine which i have tried and it works really good for finding leaks in the vac system
  13. Is it true that we can deny a warranty repair for having aftermarket tuners in the trucks? What are the rules and do trucks really get flagged on oasis??? I keep reading about Ford flagging trucks on oasis but I never saw that.
  14. Before my last message was lost (what ever that means) you guys were straightening me out like a punk kid and i guess ideserved that. You guys are right that judging the ford system by looking at one tech is the wrong way to look at it. I am beginning to see that even with training it's not always easy to get it right.
