  1. HI guys. I have a friend that has the passenger side rear injector/glow-plug connector at the valve cover melt. I was wondering if any of you fellow techs have any spare connector ends or harnesses that i could get from you. Only 2 of the pins melted in the connector. Thanks!
  2. i saw he said easier to replace than the 6.0 and i was thinking what??? Then i remembered, FORD not International. I'd much rather do a STC fitting on a 365(late 04 and up of course) than these cab forwards. Ive done a couple on the CF's and couldnt sneak the HPP cover off like the 365's.
  3. I have a spare engine sensor harness sitting on my work-bench that i have just for instances like this. If you need it let me know.
  4. I had to do "uptimes" to 2 of those dreaded street-sweepers. You know, the rear gear train upgrades. Major PITA! I would definately dread doing a branch tube in one and would most likely pull the engine as well.
  5. Have you seen the old style 03- early 04 branch-tubes? It has a discharge tube coming from the top of the HPP (like a J) into the branch tube. There is no STC fitting and the bolts that hold the tube are 8mm head bolts and a PITA to access.
  6. Dont feel alone! Ive done several over the past few weeks. I only had to remove the back to rocker arms on each bank. Why five?? I dont even waste time anymore bending the tube back into place. Just replace it. I hate the early build engines. That design royally sux.
  7. Maybe they are equally crappy. lol j/k Sorry, im just venting. Im in the middle of a branch tube job and could kill an engineer or 3.
  8. Quote: Some of the carnage is Unreal. I just did a turbo on a DT466(I-313) last week that had spun the compressor wheel right off and dumped a huge amount of oil in the intercooler. I should have snapped some pics. Ive done quite a few reconditiongs on the 365, Ive only seen one that had a catastrophic failure.
  9. I just did and STC fitting repair in a UPS last week. At that time i said if i had to do the branch tube the engine will definately come out. I remain firm on that if another one comes in. The 444E is much easier to work on in the UPS/Fed-EX trucks than the 365.
  10. Is this the update kit w/ fittings and bracket? We have quite a few in stock here but its an International part number.
  11. Im suprised that they dont send a long block. Especially since its a school bus. We had a tech this week had an 04 box truck w/ a 365 running rough. It had low compression on 2 cylinders on the right bank. Tech line just had him remove the cylinder head and inspect. We didnt see anything. They didnt even want us to pull the pistons. They sent us a long block. hmmm....
  12. Have you tried cleaning it w/ the cleaning disk yet? Have seen alot worse.
  13. I havent seen any in awhile on the 6.0. Mainly when they first came out. Not many though. This is odd though. Because we just were told that any valve train failures have to be phoned in. Wonder if they are starting to see some issues?
  14. Last week i had a new 07 CF w/ 4200 miles on the clock towed in. Customer complaint was that it wouldnt move in any gear all of a sudden. I install the driveshaft and start her up, put her in gear, and away we went. After 80 yes 80! miles of test driving i couldnt get the darn thing to act up. NO CODES ANYWHERE! Call tech service and talked to one of our 2 CF gurus and told them the complaint. They knew exactly the problem and sent me a new valve body. The valve body hasnt arrived yet. I was also told at that time this is a common complaint and that we are instructed to phone in EVERY CF that comes in for ANY work (besides maintenance). Thanks God for International. Without then i would be out of a job.
  15. All the turbos i have reconditioned havent had another issue that i am aware of. There have been some that when torn down could not have been reconditioned and had to get replaced. Its not that bad of a job to do. The only PITA is getting the crossover tube lined back up w/ the turbocharger on reinstallation. I like the new ones as they are easy to break down. Ive done several w/ over 70k on them and were a PITA to get the housings to seperate.
  16. I usually monitor the pids. If i see the EBP is actually high or "screwy" I check the EBP sensor and tube for clogging. If nothing found i remove the outletpipe off the back of the turbo and run the engine again. If no change i recondition the turbo.
  17. Huh?? Is there anyway you can get in touch w/ someone from International?
  18. here it is 1873821C91. It shows up on our parts online that it is unavailable. We have to call our V-8 engineers to send us this kit.
  19. yes there is. im sorry ive been slack. ill post the part number up tomorrow.
  20. Yep. seen that hose leak a few times. We have calls everyday from Ford 6.0 owners wanting to know if we can do the job under warranty. As of right now its a big no.
  21. THe kit i mentioned comes w/ a bracket and bolts. The bracket bolt to the front 2 bolts of the HPP and the 2 bolts of the disharge tube to help keep things in place. Ive put the discharge tube and fittings on only to have the same thing happen and bend the discharge tube backwards and sheering off the bolts to the coupler. From then on i said im putting a discharge tube and the updated kit on no matter what.
