No worries Keith ! All I said was that the BG rep and I worked rogether at an independent truck shop years before, and he should have known I would do something like that !

Had BG try selling us their EGR/ intake setup for the 6.0 years ago while I was still working. Their van was parked beside the truck they were demonstrating on. The process produces a hell of a lot of smoke from the exhaust. I only thought it right to put an exhaust hose on the truck and route it into the sliding door of their van. The look on their face when they realized what was going on was priceless !

I have used Fel Pro headgaskets on the 6.0 for many years now, and many many trucks. Never an issue, and some of these trucks are putting out some nice hp. Have done two trucks almost back to back that both had Allianz Power gaskets used and only made it 6 months. Mind you, that was a number of years ago, but they were redone with fel pro and no issues since.

Using a Sony vaio touchscreen. Nice machine, used for IDS and everyday stuff as well. Currently have a VCM 1 but thinking it may need updating soon. Had it since 03 still on its first cables !

The newer model glow plugs are 1mm (iirc), to prevent contact with the change in bowl design of the piston. 18mm heads are the same I believe, but do remember a camshaft difference.

does anyone know if an 03 short block will work for an 06 truck ? Heads, branch tube, hpop etc would be transferred.

If I remember correctly, the F series was available in 94 with the DIT engine, but only with a manual transmission. 1995 brought about a re flash so that you could actually communicate with the damn things properly. The good ol days ! Doing idi injector pumps under warranty !

Just curious what people are charging for head gasket replacement, cab on ?

I'm trying to find a PCM for a 2000 Excursion, 7.3. Not available from Ford, or through the auto wreckers on the Canadian hotline they use.Tag number is YC3F AVA Any help would be great !

the shop I worked at until I got sick was hourly. I worked in the truck shop end of the dealer which did F250 on up to Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star, plus whatever else rolled in the door as long as it was diesel. Nobody in the shop had ever worked flat rate, with the exception of myself, and it showed. They were groomed to be slower than molasses and the customer paid for it. The labour guide was thrown out the window for those guys. we were paid our normal wage whether you worked or not, and there was a shift premium for 4-12. I almost always produced 20 + hours over my time clocked in, and I was compensated modestly. Its been 2.5 years since I have been off work, and I am still "in" the social club, which means I still get my turkey at Christmas, and invites to functions. if I was able to go back now, I could go back and make at least 60 % more per hour. There was a lot of negatives at work, but there were also a lot of good things about my employer too !

those motors were no speed demons, but they got the job done time and time again. I remember some days when it was those motors and the 2 stroke Detroits that were all that was on the plate for a few days
