  1. i read them every day you never know when useful information will be found
  2. usually on excursion and expedition they burn out do to gem failure . ck for water leak ls of dash onto fuse box and gem . may or may not have codes usually related to failure of relays
  3. have seen a few , unfortunately most have been in econolines with all the extra crap in way buses
  4. tsb is customer pay after warrantee is expired . usually get 2 hours to swap and rpogram cluster as required
  5. factory fluid in 4r100 is merc 3 . latest bulletin says fluid reformulated . ok to now use merc 5 in all . flush lines with flush machine refill with merc 5 should be no problems . ford is discontinuing merc 3 when supply si gone all that will be avail is merc5 for everything

  10. do a ripple test on alternator can cause 340 . or possibly a bad coil pack with rfi interfereence can cause it too good luck
  11. its a prepiad credit car . any money from spins will be credited after aprox 10 days . get a pin number when you get card and you can take the cash .
  12. i also have found a dealer who appreciates what i can do for him and myself . good pay . i never worry about whether or not im getting paid . that alone was worth the move here . ride here can take an hour even though its 20 miles . but like others say . it can be relaxing or make worse but i like my job now which i cant say i did at other places
  13. i have 8 spins 240 so far 1 100 spin . the trucks are supposed to be sent by end of this month to you at dealer .
  14. the choice is yours . i have been offered independant . guess it all boils down to where you are most comfortable . i agree the 6.0 sticks and is miserable to work on . but if you mater it there is a sense of pride that few others can match . i have worked in dealers for 18 years now . done a lil bit of everything . i was offered money to start my own shop . but insurance and all that played the strongest part for me i have wife and three kids i need insurance and a reasonable amount of stabilty . dealers give me that . where i am i am treated well dont work nights or weekends . and they gave me a 4 day weekend for the forth . doubt youll get that at an independant . weigh all the options and do what you feel is right for you . for me its a dealer . to each his own . but if doesnt work out there will always be ford to fix
  15. have had a few stuck open injectors so far have all been on expeditions . changed oil and 3 injectors on one . and hope and pray cat doesnt clog . time will tell
  16. THE MOTOR DOESNT HACE TO BE PULLED WHAT WE DO IS TAKE OUT CAB BOLTS EXCEPT REARS JACK UP CAB WITH 2 4X4 . RAISE ENGINE WITHOUT PULLING TURBO AND THE LIKE AND TAKE IT OUT BOTTOM . WORK AND IS BETTER THAT PULLING ENGINE

  18. the only way i do engines in truck is to pull cab any more . its way easier . worked awesome on an expedition . ford will cut the labor times im sure .bu thats what they always do dont they .
  19. you can slide it out ft withouth removing entire body . take all ft body bolts only leave in rears jack body and put 4x10 x10 wood block in then mootr will come out ft . its tight but will come out . sorry no pics
  20. usually this trans loses epc pressure due to contamnination . it will free up and then work fine . metal is usually from case where the planetray gearset rides . or snap ring but snap ring generally loses reverese not just forward
