  1. Just by chance the oil stand pipe was slightly melted from an overheated engine. On a engine replacment a while back the tech line said that the stand pipe will melt in the housing and is a indicator of over heating.
  2. OH I forgot to mention last year the the factory-field guy took pictures of one of my lifts and in 2007 a body lift will be a ford book repair procedure, withe easier disconnects lines and harnesses. (and cut the crap out of out times) DAM THEM FACTORY FIELD NAZI'S!
  3. Ok I have done about 4 or 5 lifts now and cant figure on how you can do one with out pulling brake lines(???) from the antilock module on any year hydro or vacume? I can leave the a/c charged with out a problem and squeeze off power steering hoses with out losing much fluid. The last one I picked at the rear pinch weilds and blocks of wood on the front running boards with heavy nylon binders to the lift arms. I got to get a digital camera
  4. Some one at the tech hot line said they see about 7 stuck valves a month because of brand new trucks sitting for months on dealer lots(with out starting the motors), valve stems rusting up. A week ago I did one and they said if the piston just had smiley faces, just do the head and gasket(and push rod) . No marks on the head but it looked like rough acne on the piston & head of that cylinder with the valve still open.
  5. YES A RE-BOOT will work wonders herd about it today. We first thought we had a bad signal location problem. Try rebooting.
  6. Could be sucking air from the primary filter on the frame. Air in the fuel would cause this and quickly trash injectors with out that cushy (air less) fuel.
  7. After putting in a new branch tube connection, this 6.0 had a few leaks. ( 4-mechanics at diffrent stages)The rear cover & rear main was changed than the high pressure pump cover was changed twice (t-joints leaking) cleaned it again found weeping from around the top of the oil cooler fixed that. Then it was the cam sensor o ring cut changed that. Than it was the front cover leaking right above the p/s pump so I changed the gasket plate & the front seal. Too Many Cooks Spoil The Soup!
