  1. Agree completely. The Class 6-7-8 truck "assemblers" are just that...assemblers. It's been that way for years. Proprietary parts like frame rails, cabs and hoods are brand specific. Suspensions/steering, axles/brakes and drive train are somewhat standard across the industry. Like Larry said...don't give up on looking for most parts...they're out there...just from another dealer or parts house.
  2. I used to call on the old Autocar plant in Ogdon Utah. It was originally made by White and used the White cab. No common "proprietary" parts with a Pete.
  3. Fuel Mileage will improve at or around 15,ooo miles. The 6.4 requires a minimum of 45 cetane ULSD fuel. Suggest the use of PM22A Cetane Booster to insure fuel quality. It is...what it is.
  4. 6.4 oil filter is the same as the 6.0 FL-2016
  5. Call Jody at B&I in Camp Hill, PA (FAD) He has connectors. (717) 730-7353
  6. Is there a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif "Beer Cooler"!!!!!
  7. Ford Doctor wrote:"if the explanation about the materials used to produce the cap being incompatible with the very chemicals it's supposed to hold in, then I would say that there are some really freakin stupid people spec-ing out parts at Ford." I asked the same question about materials of the instructor... He thought it was stupid as well but had no further explanation.
  8. I received this back from the trainer... " 2004 F-Super Duty Service Manual page 303-03-5 (Book/Volume 2) about the middle of the page."
  9. I was attending one of our 6.0 training classes and the instructor said the caps were good for only one bypass. Something to do with the material used inside the cap. He said the material used on the atmosphere side was not compatible with the coolant. He called it a one time cap. I've contacted him and asked for it in print. He said it's in one of the service manuals. He'd look and get back to me.
  10. I know this may sound elementary but, Did you replace the coolant bottle cap? They're a "one time" design.
  11. FYI. First of all I want to state that this is not an ad. There's a Motorcraft FAD on the East Coast Called B&I that sells Motorcraft to the Ford dealers in PA, NJ, DE, NY. They have a tool line with "Top Sider" creepers for under $300.00 It's the same creeper sold by the tool trucks. I turned one dealer on to them. He bought 2 for the shop. The Tech's fought over them...literally!
  12. Hey Doc, These are the books I'm talk'n about! 2003, 2004, 2005.
