  1. * Special operation = operating conditions like extensive towing, Long idle time, Extended low speed driving, For off road/dusty conditions oil change intervals should be every 7,500 miles/ 12,000 KM, or 300 hours of engine operation. I will stick to my 5k mile oil changes. Coming up on 200K has been good so far. This came straight out of the FORD owners manual ???? that no owner will read. HA HA
  2. This was the ford document sent out early 2012 that I found discussing glow plugs with some nice pictures to assist in a reasonable explanation on length and which head. 6.7L_Glow_Plug head change.pdf
  3. I Drive it HARD like I stole it currently sitting at 231K,,,,great truck!!
  4. Two of the fleets I work with have had only 2 trucks out of 48 and they repeat now 3 times. Dealer has involved a FORD FSE on one but have not seen any changes in part yet. Just directed to replace it and move on. The Driver is keeping a spare in the back,
  5. Add a P1316 code also for reference to these IDM's if pinpoint leads to Replace IDM.
  6. Seems Motorcraft made a change last year from a Brazil made to a Portugal made IDM. The ones from Portugal will set a CEL and the P1276 only under a heavy accel with a load. These pipe haulers/hot shot haulers in the west seems to be the ones setting these codes. I have had 3 of these to date. Ran through Fords pinpoint test, did the overlay, with the result to replace IDM. Ended up going with a earlier IDM to stop the CEL.. Customer happy, truck runs great and NO CEL.
  7. Ford owns the Power Stroke brand,,,,,,I see alots of complaints, but if there is a perfect motor, we would be out of a job. Complain all you want but the 6.0L and the 6.4L motors are better than the others out there,,,at least my truck works hard and sitting at @156K so far on the 05 SD, great truck.
  8. Ford is trying to line up the urea tank refill at a typical oil change interval. We will see. typical is hard to define with a super duty owner
  9. Wow, I have never said I was perfect, I got paid for the job, I guess I could be sweeping the floors. People, even engineers can make a mistake. My deal is to fix the 70K truck and have the owner come back for other work. Just taking care of business
  10. Dustin, I will be back to see you and Jeff soon. Great pics of the shop
  11. think and listen to the audio on the file. The motor is missing a cylinder from who know what. The excess fuel just feeds the Cat and onto the DPF. The new calebration will move the motor down to save motor mode and a check engine light via the dash, especially in a overheat situation like the video.
  12. All the injectors are for supply to Ford dealers. Would you rather be waiting on a part or have it at your dealership. It's called filling the channels. As far as warranty goes and testing all is true. I do not know of any manufacture that has a perfect launch. This is why we have a job. Ford has injectors, on the GM side get in-line for a 30 to 60 day wait for bosch injectors.
  13. Two new owners that I have talked to and were previous 6.0L owners have said it's about the same. This was at the 12 to 14 mpg range. Both are in construction with a double axle trailer and a bobcat on the rig. One truck has 9K for mile already.
