Maybe pull the plug out of the front cover and see if the oil pressure regulator is stuck in the bore.

I've gotta agree. I've seen quite a few 7.3s with fuel pressure issues... fix the fuel pressure, and they normally run just fine.
-
Not that I agree with doing it... infact, I am a big supporter of emissions controls... http://www.elitedieseleng.com/engine60egr.htm

No Larry. I have nothing. After getting the truck started, and doing a bunch of inspections, the customer decided that he was going to take it. This fleet pays the drivers by delivery, so they are VERY impatient... but they are the first ones to complain that they are having problems getting their trucks fixed... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif

Thanks, Keith. The kit is only around $300, but it's still kinda stooopid. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/icon_crazy.gif

Is it true that you must purchase an entire RKE system to get fobs? Or can FOBs be purchased seperately? Thanks. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif

Every one that I have had with fuel in the coolant received 2 heads. I have never been able to see the cause of the fuel entering the coolant on a 6.0, but one of my co-workers once was able to see (what looked like) fuel running over the cup on a 6.0, so he replaced the cup, resealed the injectors, put it back together, rechecked it... same problem... ended up replacing the head. I always put in a hotline contact saying that I've removed the injectors, and can't see the cause... they always respond by suggesting replacing both heads... However, currently the heads are back-ordered to somewhere in a galaxy far, far away...

The year was 1992. Started changing oil at a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/ford.gif dealer at night, after school. It's been all downhill from there. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/drinkingdude.gif

I was getting a bit excited there, thinking that Ford was finally going to come out with a diesel car (again)... but after reading deeper, it appears to be a direct injected gasoline engine... too bad... when will they figure it out?
-
No, Larry. We do all the maintenance on this fleet. And, unfortunately, there is a bit of a language gap between us and the driver, so getting all the information necessary is not always that easy.

The fuel has not been modified. The lines have been removed from the vehicle and inspected. He checked the air bleed today, and it was clear. After gettng the air out of the system, it runs perfectly well... and normally will for about a month or so between break-downs.

One of my co-workers seems to have become involved in an on-going problem with an LCF that every now and then becomes a no-start due to air in the fuel system. Today it was towed in, and upon removal of the secondary filter cap, air came hissing out. No fuel was present. It is a dual tank vehicle, on one prior visit, the right tank was completely empty, and the left tank was full. For that reason it got a new transfer module. Today both tanks are at the same level (as it should be). The HFCM has also been replaced, and the pick-up lines in the tanks have been inspected. Is there anything you guys think could be going on?

No kidding. And there are NO heads available... anywhere... the last set we did we waited nearly 2 months for heads.

There is an EGR delete kit available from some performance shops that comes with a plug for the y-pipe that gets welded on, and some plugs that bolt in place of the EGR cooler.

I arrived at work after an extended Christmas liver-bashing to find not one, or two, or three... but four 6.0s with fuel in the coolant. All of them arrived within a week and a half. And, on top of that, we've had about 3 6.0s and 2 7.3s in the past few months prior to this rush with the same issues. Does anyone else notice a trend like this at your house?

There is a dealer in Jacksonville, Florida offering a $15,000 signing bonus for diesel techs as we speak... I wonder what the catch is... It's on http://www.needtechs.com , I tried to post a link directly to the page, but it didn't work...

We are open Christmas eve until 5.30pm, and boxing day until 5.30pm
Ho. Ho. Ho. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif
How can you be open Boxing Day... it's a stat...

Well, I've reached that time of Friday that it's time to wish everybody a happy holiday and stuff like that. Now, I'm off to excercise my liver for 10 days... CHEERS! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Our diesel warranty numbers are always in the red. It's something that we've come to expect. We have been audited before, but came out with just a few suggestions as to how to bring it down, but we are the only commercial dealer in the east end of Toronto, we see way more volume... as well as complicated repairs that the smaller dealers shoo away. The auditors took that into consideration, and basically told us that if they had seen our kind of numbers at some of the other local dealers, they'd tear them a new one... but left us alone... As for turning away ALL diesel work, I can't see what that will do to bring your numbers down, because as far as I know, it is reviewed on a cost per repair basis... so if there are NO repairs, how can you bring that average down?

Well, Chan, that's up to you. I get the impression that you like to lift the cab for just about anything. If that makes it easier for you, fine. If you were to just cut or break the bolts off, you'll probably find that you can change a y-pipe in less than 2 hours.Am I on the right track?

I'd like to say there is nothing in my bay at this time, since I've been lucky enough to take a few remaining days of vacation to abuse my liver.

A little off topic... but last week, we had 3 trucks come in with fuel in the coolant... one 7.3 Econoline, which I got... and 2 6.0's, one van, and one truck... which my poor neighbor got both of... I can't believe that we got 3 in one week. That's all.

Here, here...
All this talk about tuners and "overfuelling boxes" and EGR disabling is getting my panties in a knot.
