  1. Guy's, without naming name's, I can say with confidence that all chip mfgs. tuner's, module's and anything else do with engine performance, do have access to all of Ford's file's. They usually run about a month behind the update's at most. You gotta remember, if it is in the public domain, somebody is gonna turn a profit on the info.
  2. Keith, as long as the stock file from the Evolution was loaded back into the PCM on that same truck, you are good to go. The tuner's work this way: They copy the stock program, store it in the tuner, and upload a performance file into the PCM. To return to stock configuration you must have the same tuner, as it is VIN locked to that PCM, restore the stock program to the truck, and the tuner retrieve's the performance file to be used again and again
  3. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif Gimme some help if ya can.
  4. That "Jet Engine" sound that you describe is a highly sought after sound here in Florida. It is most noticible on a turbo back exhaust, with no cat, and no muffler. I have sold a ton of these, and this is what all the kid's want, I even like it myself! The sound is different right at start up, then it changes to the jet engine as soon as the EGR open's, if you don't believe it, just unplug the EGR, and crank her up again Some guy's are pure rabid when the EGR screws up, and does'nt make the sound.
  5. Jim, I could'nt agree more, if you play, you pay. I would'nt expect anyone to look the other way, if I caused the problem. I try to tell people to run the AFE Proguard 7 or better filter's, with a dry sock too. Just a thought, what type of filter setup have you ran across that seem's to do as good a job, beside's the stock filter? Thank's
  6. I forgot to include that, did'nt I. It is an NGS ODB2. I have the updated green card. Thank's
  7. I have posted this question on another site with no knowledgeble response. I am running tire's on my truck that reqire the ABS to accept 00560, now I know that it will only accept a reading of 00601. I programmed the ABS to accept 00601, for 35" tire's, now I have 37x13.50x20 Toyo's that are rated @00560, my question is,I know that it can be done, as I have done it before, what will it take to recalibrate to get my driveability back. I think I played with the rim size, or rear-end ratio, or something, it's been so long. Thank you for any info.
  8. Pete, The 6.0 engine will hit over 1400 degree's stock, if you are pulling a good size trailer, especially on grade's that you are describing. Even with a free flowing exhaust, air system upgrade's, and no programmer. These engine's make plenty of heat, so YES, I would defintely suggest that you run an EGT gauge and a transmission gauge that actually work's. Hope I've been a help.
  9. Keith,I am involved in just the sort of thing's that you are talking about. Yes, most dealer's here sell aftermarket goodie's, such as exhaust, programmer's, module's, lift kit's,etc. What the public refuse's to understand is, the dealer may be OK with it, but if a Ford rep is there checking on a warranty issue and see's these modification's the dealer is quick to throw them under the bus, so to speak. I sell and install all of the above, but it is known upfront, if you play, you pay. I do not expect for Ford, or any other dealer to pay for something that is directly related to a failure from an aftermarket part, but if a guy need's a waterpump, and the tech see's an aftermarket air cleaner and deny's warranty, then I have issue's. I hope I did'nt over step my bound's. What are your thought's?
