  1. What are you using to measure the actual pressure? The ICP sensor? Possibly biased?
  2. Funny you mention it Aaron, had 2 fail in the last month. One failed after the road test and went to fire it up to move it and it was dead and the other failed after being in service a week.
  3. STC fitting is more then likely the cause of the stalling, I've had at least 3 of them. Monitor the ICP and you will see the pressure loss and IPR try to recover if you make a recording and follow the playback 1 frame at a time.
  4. I've had personal trucks do this as well as customers, and usually it ends up being a tire issue.
  5. By all means post with what they tell you, I'm curious on what all can be monitored with this thing.
  6. +1 on checking for combustion in the fuel, judging by the results you've posted so far. If need be search the site as there's a great write up on testing for it.
  7. Glad to hear that you and the family are all ok.
  8. Like Alex I just caught it on the news and checked here to see if Jim had checked in, hoping eveyone is ok but it sounds bad at the moment.
  9. Funny, all I have is a bunch of 6.0's that all seem to have head gasket failures.... right after they all got back from down south pulling their monster trailers home after spring break.
  10. They may have a better engine, depending on the user's opinions but as far as the rest of the truck... well lets just say it leaves alot to be desired.
  11. Ok here's what I've got in the old notes. If you have sync, the indicates the PCM is seeing both the Cam and Crank sensors and timing is acceptable, however if you're mising FICM sync one would first assume you would be missing the signal between the PCM and the FICM. Now that maybe wrong but from what I can recall it's correct. Now when the fault occours, do you have a CMP_F pid reading a fault is present? If not I would venture to say the CMP signal is good and the PCM can see it. Also when the no start concern is present, can you see a cranking RPM? I realize you have no known test units handy but it sure would be helpful right about now.
  12. Ok, let me check my notes here and get back to this later, I've run across something like this before and can't remember the cause.
  13. Have you eliminated the Banks system to verify it's not the culprit?
  14. I'm with Brad on that, I'd be pissed and wanting to know WTF is going on. I talked to the local engine plant dyno operator last night and as far as he's heard there hasn't been any failures of that sort on any of the dyno run engines and most have had about 25000 to 30000 miles of run time on them.
  15. Nice pictures, so has the hotline came up with a explanation on what might have caused this?
  16. No matter how long we've been doing this, I think deep down we should always be a bit nervous after major repair. I think it makes us better in the end. On a side note I've seen too many careless mistakes caused by guys that seemed too over confident.
  17. Wouldn't be surprised. I haven't had a Banks on do it but I've had a few run ins with Edge products causing/masking problems that cleared up once the tuner was taken out.
  18. I found it,and it's on order. Thanks for the numbers Bruce.
  19. Could someone check if these are still available from Rotunda? No matter what number I use I get the same old number not found on the Canadian side, and when I try the US side I get blocked.
  20. Rotunda 105-R0107 is the one I'm looking for, sorry I guess I should've been a little more clear.... it was a rough day lol
  21. Bruce, are you sure that number is available from Rotunda? I tried searching and all I seem to get is number not found....then again it may be the Canadian site doing it's thing once again.
  22. I've only done 2 of them and yeah I treated them just like I would a 6.0
  23. Ok, I'll be the one..... no you must remove both as an assembly in order to do a proper repair.
  24. Depending on how rough it's running it might set flag for loss of sync while doing a power balance test but it would have to be pretty extreme. Had a few harnesses with shielding damage cause it but they would loose Sync while testing. A noisey alternator could also be the culprit. Whats the MGP and Mass fuel desired doing when it looses power? VGT% and EBP?
