  1. Ive got a 94 with the first powerstroke in it, customer states it dies while driving and wont restart. It has code 841 for icp steady state error. The pin point test only gives steps for an unstable idle, this one has had a pretty stable idle since I have had it. I have not duplicated the concern yet. I manually checked the oil pressure and at idle its at 700psi. I have not done much else to it yet but I am not real familiar with the old eec iv set up and was wondering if anybody had any help or suggestions for me to try tuesday morning. Thanks
  2. Hey guys i've got a 97 5 speed powerstroke and i would like to add to the power. Do any of you have any ideas on things i can do to it. i cant find a lot for the 97 most stuff is for 99 up.
  3. I have replaced the map sensor with a know good one and it didn't change anything.
  4. It's got the old pump but the icp is in the valve cover. It doesn't have the learn pid either.
  5. I've got an 04 F-350 ambulance that came in with no power. I found that tht CAC has blown out i replaced it and it felt better so i let it go. The customer came to pick it up and said it was the same as it was. I road tested it and at WOT from a dead stop it takes about 4-5 seconds to build boost and go. It runs perfect the rest of the time. I've got no codes, fuel pressure is good, no air restrictions or exhaust retrictions. HP oil is good, no exhaust leaks in y pipe or anywhere else. I removed to inspect the turbo, it was pitted up and sticking so i replaced the turbo and removed and cleaned the intake, still no power at WOT. I've drove a few amulances and they all seem alittle weak, but they say it just started this. I cant find anything wrong or out of specs. I need help PLEASE!
  6. I've got a 05 dodge cummins, I just replaced the hp fuel pump for a no start concern. It now starts and runs fine but dies when I accelerate. This is my first cummins and was wondering if anyone knows how to bleed the air from the fuel system.,
  7. Hey guys I have an 03 E450 with a 7.3 only builting around 8 psi boost. It has codes p0237, p0541 and p1105 in continuos memory. Fuel pressure is good, all pids are good except the map sensor pid which reads 0.00Hz and 14.57 psi. I have tried a new map sensor and nothing changed. I still dont have a lot of experience on 7.3's so I just wanted to see if anybody might have any help. Thanks.
  8. has anyone had trouble with the banks six gun tuner causing a surge at times. the truck has no codes and i only got it to surge on me when i was pulling ito the shop. when i removed the connector from the dlc it hasnt acted up since. also i have plugged the tuner into the dlc and road tested with no luck duplicating it.
  9. I've got a f-650 with crank but no start. I don't have access to MD truck so I have no codes. I know it's no getting any fuel to the filter housing. It has a mechanic fuel pump mounted to the power steering pump that is driven by the crankshaft. It is not pumping fuel, I replaced the fuel and steering pump assembly and cranked, still no fuel to the housing. I've never worked on this fuel pump set up is there a prime procedure or can anybody give me some help.
  10. Hey guys I have an 06 250 in that the customer has added 4 gallons of oil in the last 1800 miles and is smoking and running rough. It is missing on #1,#2 and #8 cylinder. Ran relative compression test #8 was down 3%, ran a manual compression test on #8 cylinder and it was 350 psi. I havnt done much more than that yet, I just wanted to see if anyone has ran into something like this before, maybe save me some time. Thanks.

  12. Hey guys I have a quick question, I have a 95 f-350, that has burn the rear connector up on the right side twice and is now in for the front connector burnt on that same side. What would cause the injector harnesses on the right side to keep burning up. Im pretty sure it is the IDM but I wanted to see what you though before I priced one out to him. Thanks.

  14. Can I print of the coffee table books from this site and if not do any of you know how to go about getting them. I have the first 6.0, 6.4 and 6.7 books but I would love to have the others to, so if anybody knows how I can go about getting them please let me know.
  15. Matco also has a real good, removal tool. I havn't used many but it can get one out in a couple minutes and I have never had any trouble with it, but it is a little higher priced that the Lisle tool.
  16. Hey guys, I have an 06 six o that came in with the egr cooler leaking. I replaced the egr cooler and oil cooler. When I got done I started it and moved to the wash bay to clean the engine. It did not run long and died, I started it back and it ran long enough to clean the valley out and died again. At this point I checked the oil, I added 13 quarts, I know it didnt loose that much while I was working on it. Now it will run great for awhile at idle, and all of a sudden die. When trying to start back it is building only 400 psi. This is the first time I have had this happen. Do you think it may have air in the system, the oil doesnt look aireated but if so how would I bleed the air out. Or could I have done somthing to cause a hp oil leak, I cant think of anything just changing the egr and oil cooler, but I have not many ideas right now. It has 132289 miles. Any help would be great thanks.

  19. Has anybody used snap-on's ethos scan tool, I talked with snap-on and it sounded like it would work well for all ford diesels.
  20. Hey guys I dont have a lot of information on this yet so you may not be able to help me yet, the customer is suppost to bring it to me this week. He has a 2009 f450 with the factory bed on it. He says it will have no power only during a heavy rain and it runs perfect when nice weather. He also said that during a heavy rain it will still have to be drivin 5 or 10 miles before it will start acting up. He has had it at two different shops and they told him it had no codes and they couldnt help him. I have only talked to him, he has not brought the truck in yet but I just wanted to check and see if anybody has run into something like this that might give me a heads up when he gets here. Thanks.
  21. hey guys i just came to another shop and they have not had a diesel tech here ever and i cannot find any of the special tools i need to block off the high pressure oil system on a 7.3. I was wondering if anybody could get me the ford or otc part numbers so i can order the high pressure oil system tools. I have looked everywhere and can not find them. If anybody can help i would apprieciate it.
  22. HEY GUYS I HAVE A QUICK QUESTION, DO ANY OF YOU KNOW THE PART NUMBER FOR THE INJECTOR CONNECTOR ON THE OUTER SIDE OF THE VALVE COVER. IT IS TO BURNT TO JUST REPLACE THE CONNECTOR I NEED THE PIGTAIL FOR IT. THANKS.
  23. I have found a pretty good deal on an 89 4x4 with the 6.9. I havnt had a lot of dealing with one of them, would it be worth fooling with. Just wondering.
