  1. Thanks Bruce, I removed the oil filter and it didnt fill the housing also I inspected the regulator all was ok. I added 4 quarts to the engine and it finally built pressure and cranked. I let it sit over night and drained the oil and refilled to correct level and tried to crank. It cranked up and I road tested it about 20 miles and all seems ok. Thanks for your help I appreciate it.
  2. I have a 08 lcf that has no low oil pressure and will not start. I have replaced the low oil pressure pump and have been cranking and has not built up yet. Have any of you had this problem or does it just take an ungodly amount of time to build up on these things. Thanks.
  3. I have an 06 model sick-o with 113000 miles. It cranks up and runs rough after a minute the cylinders will start dropping out one at a time until it dies. When i try to crank it back it hits like it wants to start sometime and other times it hydro locks. It is blowing white smoke out the tail pipe and leaking coolant from the exhaust connector under the passenger seat. I was gonna replace the egr cooler but when i removed the egr valve it was not overly corroded and the inside of the intake did not look wet, so if the egr cooler was leaking bad enough to lock the engine wouldnt it be wet at the egr valve. I dont have as much experiance as all of you so any help would be appriciated. Thanks.
  4. whats up guys, i have an 08 f-350 6.4 that has an intermittent miss on the #5 cylinder. I have road tested and not been able to duplicate it, but it does have codes p0275 and p0305, tsb says to inspect for chaffing at banjo bolt on fuel filter housing. No chaffing found and all connectors are seated correctly. I have wiggle tested wiring and found nothing yet. Also it passes the injector electrical test. Have any of you ran into something like this.
  5. there may not be anything to this but someone told me that cingular and verizon give a discount to ford dealership employees. has anyone else heard of this and if so how big of a discount is it.
  6. yea i those filters were the first thing i asked about him checking and he said yea there fine he replaced the whole assembly, i drove it around to lunch never acted up so i pulled the tank after lunch and the sender looked like it was never touched, i did not loose any time other than drivin it around but i learned not to listen to old men who think they know more than me, lol, thanks for the help though
  7. i found it the two filters in the tank unit were clogged up, the guy either lied to me or didnt know what he was doin, lesson learned never listen to the customer diagnosis.
  8. that was one of my thoughts but the guy says someone has already looked at that but i may check it out any ways
  9. i have not been able to duplicate this yet but i am not able to explain to the customer i will be guessing if its not acting up. it has no codes, but after 5 hours or so it looses power and dies, after it sits a couple of minutes it will crank back and run fine for a few more hours. i have a couple of ideas but i wanted to ask the diesel gods their opinion. im just lookin for ideas. thanks.
  10. ive got an 08 6.4 with no heat from the vents at idle, but it blows hot when accelerating, but the longer you drive the truck the less hot air it blows all the time. the upper radiator hose gets hot but the lower one stays cold and with the engine at operating temp the radiator is cold to the touch, i was just wondering if anyone has had a radiator stopped up or thermostate troubles before, or any more advise
  11. i have a lcf that has 22,000 miles on it and on cold starts it runs rough and has no power, i have replaced a couple of injectors and it came back a week later with the same concern but not consistant with a cylinder. i tried the reprogram but i am not sure it took. i am just wondering after that reprogram are the injectors suppost to cycle after the engine is turned off like the 6.0 did or how do u know when it has taken the program and also i have just about checked all i know, it runs fine after it warms up, do any of you have any suggestions, this is the only lcf i have had problems like this and i am gettin feed up
  12. i finally got it figured out the md truck at out shop was not at the newest level, i downloaded the update and it seems to have taken the program
  13. hey i was thinking about starting to do some diesel work at home since nobody want to let the dealers do customer pay work anymore, and i was just wondering what kind scan tools are good for 6.0 work. Which ones can let you look at the most stuff
  14. yea and i have checked the tsb for the error code 99 but it is still saying cable failure
  15. when i am trying to use nets to program the esn for tsb 08-17-1 i am having a problem getting it to work can someone help me with how to use the nets program it keeps telling me my cable is failing
  16. what is going on with the gas in your area. everyone is going nuts here and the stations are running out and the prices are already at $5 a gallon in some places. is it like this everywhere or is it just a bunch of idiots around here
  17. yea My Apocalypse is good, i havnt heard much of the new stuff, i am a huge Metallica fan but St. Anger has made me nervous about the new stuff. I hated that whole album. By the way i saw them live in 97 and it was the greatest concert ever I hope they make it back to Nashville or Memphis.

  20. i have an 08 f-250 that at times from accel will blow black smoke and have no power, will clear up and be fine. The thing is it only does it once in awhile. My service manager verified it after driving about 90 miles i have no verified yet. I saw on fords diesel message boards of a concern a lot like this that ford has a reprograme for this, but they also said it has not fixed their problem yet. Another tech said he had a high pressure fuel pump leaking into the crankcase, replaced pump and lines and fixed the problem. I checked my oil level and it was ok and did no smell like fuel. Has anyone here ran into this or have any suggestions.
  21. mr browning, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. the rattle acually had nothing to do with the turbo. i was inspecting the hp fuel pump and noticed the drive gear on the cam was loose and rattling. ford wanted to replace the engine. i havnt heard anything since
  22. mr. browning i acually have not got the turbo off yet the managment has had me busy with other stuff, as soon as i find out something i will let you know.
  23. i have a 6.4 with the turbo rattling like crazy, and code p1336 it is late on friday afternoon, so i am going home and will check into it more deeply monday but i was wondering if anyone has ran into this. Maybe save me a little time. LOL. Thanks.
  24. it looks like the compressor is locking up after a few minutes of running, but i can turn it by hand and it feels ok. I just replaced it and about to road test, my fingers are crossed maybe this will fix it.
