  2. i have searched for this topic and not found wht im looking for .....a while back i printed an article on step by step to remove the cab on a 6.0..does anyone know where the link is for...thanks alot

  4. yea i have the cab off now and removed both heads...found #4 and #6 cyl "lifting under boost" and u can see where the gasket is burning so to speak...the customer already had the head studs for it and i am installing them as we speak....checked both heads for warpage along with the deck and everything is ok there...so we will see...should be ok though.....also the customer took the egr cooler exhaust pipe from me and delete the port where it feeds the cooler...ill be interested to see how much of a difference it makes....he is a good customer of ours so i have no prob with this job whatsoever....im a diesel nut anyway!!!!!!!hahaha
  5. well guess what.. i swapped a coolant cap from another truck that is unmodified and whoa the hoot noise went away...test drove and not being easy and the coolant started cooming out of the cap and started making oot noise again....HEADGASKETS!!!! thanks again guys
  6. lol thanks guys i was figuring head gaskets as well considering the mods and i have already replaced the egr cooler and oil cooler
  7. i dont know if tis is the right section to be putting this in but i think the concern has a lot to do with the mods it has. i have a 2005 f250 6.0 diesel with the banks 6gun tuner, cat delete, bigger intercooler, bigger intercooler pipes, banks high ram intake, banks ram air intake system, 5 inch exhaust cat back, and a 12 inch lift. It was brought in for coolant bubbling and of course the egr cooler was blown out but it also had this hoot noise when u would boost it up and let off or if you are towing it would maintain the hoot noise. Has anyone else ran into this?

I have a problem child that i am beating my head against. i havea 2001 f350 with a 7.3 that when cold it misfires and smokes. if you leave it in the shop where it is warm it is ok still has slight misfire. I have done manuel compression with 400 psi across the board, replaced all injectors due to having 2 out and customer wanted all replaced (ordered from pensacola diesel) ran fuel tests ok changed cam sensor even used oscilliscope and watched pattern from crank wheel ok Has had idm replaced within 6 months prior. check for any wiring chafes, no codes present except contribution codes #3 and #8, also went back in and replaced #3 and #8 again figuring bad injectors talked to hotline with them telling me to replace the injectors again still no change i am stuck!!!!!!!!!!
  10. basically ran through the no start symtom chart and checked for any fuel leaks as far as visual i had no codes and 25v psi high pressure and the pcm wanted 4000psi ansd with no leaks and no codes just isolated to the pump itself i also had good supply and return pressure on the low side and also pulled the valve cover for the side that had the frp sensor no leaks there also it should have started with a leak on the opposite side but with no leaks and no codes and also the pcv and vcv were at max duty cycle so the hp was isolated from that point
  11. i just had a 6.4 towed from massachusetts for a no-start condition checked for codes none watched pids found 25psi of hp fuel when it is supposed to be 4000psi min. well anyway i pulled the cab and pulled the hp pump out and dissasembled i found all 3 piston springs broken and one of the pistons fell out i was like WOOOOOO! anyway has anyone else seen this issue thanks and i love this site

  13. i have a question for you guys i have a good customer that has a non SD f350 7.3 non intercooled DI diesel crew cab dually that was wondering if we could put a SD intercooler or a 6.0 liter intercooler on the vehicle since he doesnt have one He has already upgraded the injectors, air intake, and programmer I have looked up some info on if there is a swap but was insuccessful in finding what i needed thanks and love the site
