  1. Did you ever find a fix for this one? I'm working on a 05 with a p0234 and the same loss of turbo after seeing 30 psi.
  2. How do You go about torquing them since you take one out at a time? I'm going to be doing this job in an Excursion....studs only. Will be lifting the cab to do it.
  3. You are not to picky. You just got bit by a place that doesn't give a crap.
  4. The customer insists he has read somewhere this can be done without replaceing head gaskets. He says he has read this on other sites, don't know where. Its his $$$$ not mine. IF I do the job, I am going to road test it first to determine the oil cooler condition. I will replace it if necessary. I am going to do a body lift (save my back). I'll drain the coolant and do one bolt at a time.
  5. I have done F series body lifts and have the instructions printed. I got those from flatratetech.com years ago. Where can I find Excursion instructions? I can't even find F series anymore on line.
  6. I am supposed to quote a customer pay 2004 Excursion. He talked about just exchanging the factory bolts for the studs, one at a time. Can it be done? Is it advisable? Should the body be lifted? It is already chipped, so are the gaskets blown as well as the oe blts stretched? How many hrs do you quote?
  7. #4 was the same. WONDERFUL!!! It runs fine now. I was sweating. I am the SM at the dealer and it is / was a warranty job.
  8. I would guess the bridge was installed incorrectly. I guess thats what I am hoping for.
  9. My tech put one of these together (head gasket repair). He didn't hand turn over the engine first to make sure all push rods, rockers etc stayed in place. It missed when started. #2 and #8 missed. When the vc was removed he found the valve bridge on a pair of valves for each affected cylinder came off. It also destroyed the rocker arm ball that rides on the bridge. Also BOTH keepers came out of one of the valves. Nothing fell out and into the pan. All the pieces were found. Can air be added to that cylinder to hold the valve up so the keepers can be reinstalled? Right now the bridge is wedged against the spring and rocker....I think that is what prevented the valve from dropping. What are the chances the valve(s) bent?
  10. Since it seems like the factory bolts are stretching and the gasket not failing............Couldn't you just remove the head bolts...one at a time and install the ARP studs and it would work?
  11. No performance complaints from the driver. I meant to say he installed a fitting in the filter lid.
  12. Pressure is somewhere between 8 and 10 in the hsg. We teed in the diesel gauge to the hp fitting on the hsg and see the pressure is 50+ psi at wot not moving. I even bled out the air in the hose. I can fel the pump pumping in the plastic hose.
  13. Well......so far this truck now has the 2C3Z-9157-AA kit, the F6TZ-9150-BA kit, the fuel pressure regulator kit, a new fuel pump, all new fuel pump hoses, new fuel filter, numerous fuel filter lids (Ford). It still blows lid off. We have NEVER seen the lid blowe off. It happens whenever??? Last time it came off it took a trip from Pa to Michigan till it let go. Here are the exact comments to the coldline from the tech "Quote"...took fuel pressure readings and at light throttle fuel pressure is very erratic, goes from 30-75psi rapidly. WOT its around 45-50psi.
  14. I am not the tech working on it. It is in my shop. It has not been taken apart yet. I was looking for tips ideas to cure this POS.
