  1. In my travels I haven't heard of metal in the fuel. Have you identified where it's coming from? I.E. something on the vehicle itself or from the fuel source.
  2. Bruce: We had online ISIS during the IPT development but no longer since the launch. To everyone else, thanks for your input. If they're interchangable (at least till 2010) they should have the same operating strategies and requirements regarding voltages and pressures.
  3. I hope someone here can help answer my question. Not including the PCM and harness, is the Maxxforce 7 injectors the same as Ford's 6.4 diesel injectors? I do know they are both common rail and use the piezo injectors. Specifically, are the voltages the same to open the injectors and do they use the same fuel pressures? Could you order an injector from Ford and put it in a Maxxforce 7? I can get Ford PCED information but I don't have access to IH shop manuals. Thanks.
  4. Keith, It is the same test. MD has you manually trigger through each cylinder. From what I hear, Service Maxx has an automated version.
  5. Bruce, Thanks so much for mentioning the G2. Hickok has two flavors of the G2. The G2F is the graph you mention. This was aimed at dealer level techs that have factory software. They already have all the tools and experience to diagnose the lower half of the injector reliably. The G2 Suite has added functions that we believe round out the tool and provide diagnostics for the lower half of the injector. We have added a "scan for DTC's", graphing of the IPC and a automated cylinder kill that is similar to what IH uses. These added tools will give the tech the ability to look at some of the factors that effect the lower half of the injector. For the guys that haven't taken one of your classes yet this helps them alot. ;-) Duane Hoyt Research & Apps Engineer Hickok Inc. www.hickok-inc.com
