Article published! I had to change bung to boss becuz that is the actual term for this part though I do prefer the word bung.

I finally had an opportunity to repair one of these as I snapped off EGT-13 in it!  But, I had to braze it on which worked fine. I whacked it with a hammer a couple of times and It is solid. Doesn't look pretty either but it doesn't have to. Why braze? Because I do not have a welder nor does my dealership. As a matter of fact we don't even have a brazing tip for our torch. Yep. Did it with a cutting tip!  :haha2:

Yeah brazing would be fine for that application.  I'm shocked you don't have a brazing tip, I almost never use the cutting tip anymore.  Just to heat something up the smaller tip seems much more precise.  I've never actually brazed with a brazing tip but I do intend on trying it some day.  :D
