Diesel powered Hoover vacuum cleaner

PTS site is down, got no where with PTS today.

I got 2012 F450 with 6.7 diesel. Loud noise coming from engine, louder when removing air filter box.Sound like hoover vacuum cleaner.

It does sound like turbo or waste gate going out.

Does anybody has experienced with that noise?

Turbo bearing failure -,makes that sound because the compressor and turbine wheels are contacting the housing

yes many cab and chassis turbo failures. Be sure to check the turbine for blades missing and retrieve them from the exhaust. Also bathing the intercooler is recommended

Actually Ford recommends replacing the charge air cooler if there is a lot of metal

The only one I replaced had actual shards of metal stuck in it. All the others seemed to clean out okay. I suppose if you can see metal getting into the cold side duct it's time to replace it.
