  1. OH GOOD CAUSE THATS WHAT I HAVE MINUS THE PLATE BUT ILL BUILD ON E ONCE I GET TO THAT POINT IS IT EASIER ON THESE JUST TO GO BY SHOP MANUAL PROCEDURES?ANY SHORT CUTS? I WAS TOLD YOU COULD PULL MOTOR MOUNTS OUT BEFORE DISASSEMBLING TOP END?DOES THE MOTOR MOUNT ON THE FRAME SIDE HAVE TO COME OFF TOO?CAUSE I CANT GET THE ENGINE ANYWHERE NEAR HIGH ENOUGH,THANKS
  2. hey guys doing my first 6.0l ambulancxe head gaskets,lookin at most of the pics theres a frt engine mount used to remove these engines is it necassary or i have a fork lift with a bar on the end?thanks any other tricks with these things just diassemblying frt end right now
  3. hey, i know its not a diesel but got a '02 expedition with and int. 4x4 dis engagment a4wd while driving in 4x4 hi will clunk into at steady speeds 80km/h...changed motor,gem module, chain/gears...removed rear shaft and drove monitior pids front/rear speed whemn concern happens front speed but rear flares and no go please help thanks
  4. oh im well awhare of that, i d rather not disturb anything on these engines if i dont have to and unless its dripping, i dont even look, this guy came back a couple weeks later bell housing dry sent him on his way, i did replace a rear main on a 6.0 the other day mostly becuase it was diaganosed by another tech already but it was barely weaping, i personally would not have called it, the majority of leaks i have seen is cac tubes
  5. i agree i report everything a/m we are a factory ford dealer, vehicles are not tested to withstand a/m accessories and managment can deal with it although it bit the dealer in the ass whenn they took our advice and decided to draw the line with 6.0l chips,first head gasket job denied because of a chip, great retail head gaskets. next one bigger company chipped truck covered under warranty, anyway small town people talk and customers lossed
  6. injector would not budge after removing a/c box for access,foreman told me to pull the head off removed right side head had to pound injector out rusted badly to cup, checked history before and found out #7 injector had been changed 40k ago, improperly torqued i would assume, anyway head gaskets cooked so will change them as well, i havnt done head gaskets in awhile forgot how fun the 03s are and i just love staring at a fire wall all day
  7. jeff, why were you changing injectors in the first place?mine is a runs rough cold start had 4,8,and 7 injectors dropping out,7 wasnt that bad but figured id better change it anyway.ill try your method thanks.
  8. have an 03 6.0 changing # 7 injector hold down clamp loose but injector seized solid noticed hold down bolt loose when taking out tried lubricating tapping prying no room any suggestions, thanks

HAVE AN 03 6.O CUST COMPLAINING OF OIL LEAK ANOTHER TECH ADDED DYE 800 KM OF DRIVING CHECKK WITH BLACK LIGHT NO DYE EVIDENT SOME OIL IS ON THE BELL HOUSING WITH NO SIGNS OF OIL COMING DOWN FROM REAR OR ANYWHERE ON SIDE OF BLOCK,L OOKS DRY PEEKIN IN THROUGH INSPECTION COVER,IS PULLING TRANNY ONLY WAY TO REALLY PINPOINT REAR MAIN AND BED PLATE LEAKS?OR WILL DYE EVENTUALLY COME OUT THROUGH SIDES OF BELL HOUSING?
