  1. Does anyone know how to read a diesel hydrometer??? there are numbers on a scale from 29 to 51 - I am not sure what is good and what is bad. thanks

Customer claims that the vehilce will only start if plugged in no matter what the temp is - I have verified that it will not start now - engine is full of oil - there is one CMDTC P0640 - intake manifold air heater ckt fault - ICP - RPM - IPR - Fuel PW -all look good - fuel looks good - glow plug relay is working and 7 of the 8 glow plugs ohm out good - 50 degrees here today - any ideas would be greatly appreciated
  3. thanks for the info definetly good to know also did get prior aproval for injector replacement just wasnt sure what prior aproval was asking also contacted hotline and was advised engineering rewriting procedure for clarification thanks again
  4. 2007 f350 misses on #5 performed all normal diagnostics fuel pressure realitve compression power balance it needs an injector now for prior approval ford wants numbers from enhanced power balance test i am monitoring mass fuel desired and rpm but not sure what numbers ford is looking for also miss is mostly cold all calibration updates have been performed any help clarifing prior approval would be appreciated thanks
  5. THANKS FOR THE REPLIES INTHE PROCESS OF REMOVING COOLERS TO BENCH TEST, I ALWAYS PULL A VACUUM ONTHE COOLING SYSTEM WHEN REFILLING SEEMS TO ELIMINATE ONE LESS HEADACHE ON THESE ENGINES. THANKS AGAIN!!
  6. working on 08 f450 6.4 vehicle towed in lost coolant and overheated filled degas bottle drove truck in pressure tested found radiator leaking left side and plastic bypass hose split at seam watched coolant disappear from degas bottle faster than leaking externally removed pressure attempted to restart no go engine hydrolocked removed ebp tube at exhaust manifold and water gushed out removed glow plugs cranked engine over and did compresion test o.k. truck has over heat history prior to this failure another shop repaired leak at egr cooler not sure what made it 5000 miles more now this failure looking for some real world advice besides the obvious any replies would be greatly appreciated!! would feel much better about repair hearing from you guys thanks
  7. 2000 F450 6SPD WHEN CLUTCH PEDAL IS FULLY DEPRESSED NO CRANK LET UP ON PEDAL JUST VERY LITTLE WILL CRANK CLUTCH PEDAL ASSEMBLY O.K. NOT WORN LOOSE OR CRACKED CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SWITCH INSTALLED CORRECTLY WONDERING IF WORN CLUTCH OR CLUTCH MASTER COULD CAUSE EXCESSIVE TRAVEL INTERFERING WITH CPP SWITCH ANY ADVISE WOUOLD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THANKS.

  11. working on an early build 03 with numerous circuit codes and some intermittant drivability and charging system concerns p0046 turbo boost control circuit p0231fuel pump secondary circuit p0403 egr v. p. circuit p0460 fuel level sensor circuit p0480 cooling fan control circut p0528 cooling fan no signal p0562 sys voltage low p1378 ficm supply voltage low p1379 ficm supply voltage high cleared codes wiggled harness inspected for chaff road tested now cant duplicate concern my gut tells me to put a harness in it but its c.p. and would like to verify concern if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated
  12. looking for part # for turbo mount kit that contains 2 turbo to pedestal bolts the o rings and the ebp actuator clip my clip is rusted and broke my parts department is no help thanks for all the great info this site contains and the professional manner of all its users

  14. FIRST TIME POST LONG TIME ADMIRER OF THIS WEBSITE HAVE LEARNED ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF INFORMATION. I JUST PURCHASED VCM KIT AND DELL LATTITUDE 630 INSTALLED IDS VERSION 54 BUT NO MATTER WHAT I DO CANT GET COMMUNICATION BETWEEN IDS AND VCM LED'SBLINK GREEN AND AMBER BUT 3RD LED ALWAYS ENDS UP RED I THINK MY FIREWALL IS OFF BUT I AM NOT EXACTLY SURE ANY INFO YOU GUYS MIGHT HAVE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THANKS!
