Having a blast!
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to Alex Bruene's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I may be totally off base but... I have seen a high pitch noise on the big bore trucks only under a load, being a broken head bolt. It almost sounds like a CAC whistling, it's a bugger to find sometimes. With this engine being so new I guess anything could be possible. -
I new it,I new it that's where all the Village People come from. Slave Lake. Thanks you burned a image from HELL in my brain /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/flamethrower.gif

Factory-built high sulfur content 6.4L
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to Cetane's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Hold on a second Jay, I don't eat doughnuts. I'm 5'8" and 175 lbs, I don't fit the standard fat lazy parts guy image. Now if you pony up a 6 or 12 of my favorite barley pop then were in business. I did some looking but didn't come up with any alternate exhaust/emission options. I do remember when the catalyst started being installed in vehicles that certain emergency/offroad units were exempt from having them installed. -
95 F-350 7.3 Eating Belts
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to ktmlew's topic in 7.3L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
This is the one I was thinking of: Serpentine belt shreading, tensioner misaligned--95-97 Replace the tensioner and idler pullies with a dual-arm tensioner (98.5-style). Requires removing the alternator bracket, cutting the idler pulley mount flush with the bracket face and trimming the gusset to 1/2" below the face to allow for clearence. Install a new belt routing decal over the original. Tensioner: F8UZ-6B209-CA Belt, F-Series: F8TZ-8620-FB; E-van: F8UZ-8620-BA Belt routing decal: F8UZ-8B656-AB I hope this helps!! -

Seem to remember something about belts getting chewed up, I think there may be a updated idler pulley kit or something along those lines. Can you get me the vin for the truck? -
6.4L Guinea Pigs
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to Keith Browning's topic in Upgrade and Aftermarket Equipment
Just a update: One of the techs out in the shop was thinking about getting a new Dodge, he said that the dealers will only honor the warranty if ALL of the pm's are done at the dealer. I don't know if that's true or not but I will find out, my lease is coming up shortly. -

Yeah Chryslers commercials are pretty impressive, but I can't wait to see what kind of disclaimers are going to be involved. Can you say pull the wool over our eyes. It doesn't really matter to me even though I drive a Dakota on a lease of course. It will be really interesting to see who follows Chryslers lead. -
Keith a 5X I believe is made by Omar the tent maker...

6.4 mpg what are you guys seeing
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to kevin phillips's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Okay guy's I'm a little confused...My understanding was that a diesel was meant for torque and additional pulling power /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif If they want fuel mileage shouldn't they be looking to buy a Focus????? I personally haven't had any discussions with the customers about mileage but don't see many wo's with that concern. But then again when most of the trucks come in have trailers on the ass end loaded/overloaded, or on the hook D.O.A. -

Well I figure it this way. You all can quote me on this. "Opinions are like assholes, everyone ones got one and they all stink" Pretty much all I was understanding from that thread was, BLAH BLAH BLAH I don't know what I'm talking about, I just want to bitch and make myself feel like a big man for calling us all "thiefs" /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif

RED FUEL AND THE 6.0
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to OHNO60's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I found this for you northerners, What is ultra low sulphur diesel fuel? Ultra low sulphur diesel fuel (ULSD) is fuel that contains less than 15 parts per million sulphur. It is usually used for on-road applications. Since Sept. 1, 2006, all on-road diesel fuel in Canada must be ULSD. What is regular sulphur diesel fuel? Regular sulphur diesel fuel (RSD) is fuel that contains less than 5,000 parts per million (0.5 wt %) sulphur, but greater than 500 parts per million (0.05 wt %). It is usually used in off-road applications such as farming, forestry and marine. As of Oct.1, 2007, regular sulphur diesel fuel will contain less than 500 parts per million (0.05 wt%) sulphur. How can I tell if diesel fuel is ultra low sulphur or regular sulphur? All on-highway diesel fuel sold in Canada is ultra low sulphur. Since dyed or marked off-road diesel fuel may be regular sulphur or ultra low sulphur, ask your local supplier about the sulphur content of its off-road diesel fuel. In Western Canada, all Petro-Canada diesel fuels sold for off-road use are normally ultra low sulphur. For us in the south I found this bit of info, http://www.chevron.com/products/prodserv/fuels/diesel/non_road_diesel.shtml -

Good point, but can you imagine if more company's start lengthening their warranty's. 14 years give me a break Think about it how would any of us like having the 6.0 or 6.4 under warranty for that long. -
I'm thinking your "superstar" will be doing warranty squeaks and rattles for a while.

Gee kinda reminds me of American Honda with the OBDII problems on the 95-97 Accords. Just found this on the net. http://www.arb.ca.gov/newsrel/nr060898.htm Guess we could possibly see this down the road. -

I agree what do you mean by "fill rate" the last time I looked Ford has a rotten fill rate. How many of us have numerous 6.0 parts on b/o? Or better yet Blue Diamond parts.
