  1. Thanks for the reply, however I work for a fleet service company and no longer have the hotline. The truck belongs to the local utility company. I guess they do not trust my professional opinion and want to try and save the unit. The oil filter is an aftermarket filter, but it still has to get way hot to warp plastic so bad that it was a chore to remove it off the standpipe.

  2. My question is if you have this code can it also cause contribution codes.i have number3 and number 7,but see no issues when performing thepinpoint test. Also I think I have verified the fuel rail pressure sensor is faulty by tapping on the sensor while observing the voltage on the sensor whack around.Do you guys replace the harness that goes to the sensor also when doing this repair?

  3. 2003 4300 with vt365.This has been to our other shop and they have replaced dummy plugs.I dont have a tool to air test this thing, but my quwstion is,does this have an stg fitting on the high pressure pump.I generally work on fords and I know this was not is the f series in 2003,but the ipr is in the top of the cover and the icp is in the oilo rail at the valve cover.I suspect that if it has the fitting it may be pushed out. This thing also has 281k miles on it.

  4. Just took a quick peak at this 2000 f 350 after the starter was replaced due to slow crank. After starter replaced cranked right up.Test drove around block and noticed low power output.By the time I returned it ran poorly.Shut off and would not restart.Inspected fuel by removing fuel filter,as I know this thing is not serviced very well.Pulled out filter and fuel looks like shiny particles floating around.Stuck a magnet in there, but not ferous material.I did reinstall filter and check for codes. No codes, but during cranking icp moving around alot from like 150 to 325psi.I have seen rust and other ugly crap, but not this.Checked the filter in between the pleats and it looks ok.Yes I know I am jumping around alot, but they are crying for truck.Idea,s?

  5. Is it possible to purchase the licence for ids software if you are no longer a ford dealership tech?.I may be going to ford for a fleet that services Ford trucks and I have my own vcm and laptop.Could you just go onto fmcdealer and go to the download and say you are a tech and purchase it that way. Thanks in advance.

  6. We do work on other models here.I work on both gas and diesel. The only thing I choose not to do is major trans work.I get paid a respectible flat rate wage, however mostly do warranty work while 15 dollar an hour guy borrows my tools to do gravy. If I TURN 30 HOURS A WEEK it is a good week.I just wish it was better.that's all

  7. I work in a nice air conditioned shop. The floors are clean. However business is slow. There are quite a few people with nasty attitudes.Just to throw the topic out there, how many techs out there are feeling the strain of low pay checks and long hours? How do you maintain a good attitude when your pay is half what it use to be?

  8. I feel your pain.I taught on the college level for 1 year.I had to give it up because I got tired of the political bs and the baby sitting responsibilities. Also, the pay was sub-par.It is a real challange to teach on any level. You really have to love the job to be successful!
