  1. I looked for the serial number last night but had no luck. The only serial number I can find is on the tag on the new ECU. Is that the number or is it somewhere else?
  2. I forgot to mention that a Frieghtliner dealer already installed a new injection pump and a new ECU. They said that the next step was to throw a wastegate at it but I thought a little diagnosis would be the better step. Thanks again
  3. I am working on a 1999 Frieghtliner with a 5.9 24v Cummins with a build date on the cab of 4-98. I'm not really familiar with the Cummins engines but I took the job anyway. The problem I am having is very low power. It will just barely make it over 30mph. After the engine warms up (after approx 30 min) it runs decent but still not as good as I think it should run. I checked the fuel pressure after the lift pump and after the filter housing.......both are 14psi. I dont have access to any info on this engine other than Alldata, but I have to look it up for a Dodge 3500. The fuel pressure specs in alldata are either 10psi minimum for one engine or 25-30psi for the other engine. I was wondering if anyone knew the pressure specs. I dont know where else to look.......Thanks
  4. So if you use this piggyback system, are you gonna disable the factory TPMS system? Because the light will still be on in the instrument cluster. If you are gonna disable it, how are you gonna do it without any lights or message center messages?.......just curious.
  5. Just thought that I would tell you that I finally got the broken sensor out. I ended up making a slide hammer out of a long sheetrock screw and a heavy socket like was suggested in an earlier post. That worked like a charm. Thanks for all the help.
  6. Well thanks guys, Ill go in tomarrow and give your ideas a try.
  7. Well i screwed a 3 inch screw in about an inch and a half then put a pair of visegrips on the screw for something to pry against. I then pried with my 3 foot bar and it wouldnt budge. Ive been spraying it with BG penatrating oil for a few days but it still wont move. The hotline engineer says that the inner o-ring is the one that is stuck.
  8. I have an 03 F550 6.0l that wont start. I diagnosed it to be an inop cam sensor. When I went to pull it out it broke off flush with the block. Hotline says to drill it out, but I dont know how much good thats gonna do. Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove it?
  9. Had an early to mid 90's full size Bronco with a rough running condition. Found the o2 sensor on the right bank reading full rich. Could not drive it lean with a vacuum leak so i decided that it needed an o2 sensor. R&R the sensor, start it up and its still running full rich on bank one. Time to get the PCED out. Follow the PPT and where does it lead me but directly to PCM replacment. It didnt feel right so I did some wire chasing on my own and found that the o2 sensor wires run directly behind the battery and the battery had qutie a bit of corrosin on it. The o2 sensor was pulling stray voltage from the battery acid and it was telling the PCM that it was rich. Cleaned the battery with baking soda and also cleaned out the harness and it ran ok.
  10. Did you ever find the high speed vibration? Haha
  11. I was working on an 03 F-250 6.0 that for some reason or other I had the turbo off. After the repair I procedded to put the turbo back on. I started the truck and let it idle for probably 10 mins or so. Jumped in the truck and took it down the road. About 2 miles down the road the truck started to loose power then it stalled out completly. I coasted to the side of the road and tried to start it. The oil pressure gauge wouldnt register any oil pressure during cranking. I jumped out of the truck and opened the hood. There was oil everywhere. I looked behind the truck to see an oil trail as far as i could see! I forgot to put the bolt in the turbo feed tube. Called the hook for a tow and found the bolt on my bench when I got back to my bay. Put the bolt in and added 11 quarts of oil. Took it to the clean up shop and hosed the engine down. The truck ran fine. SM told me to send it down the road if it ran ok
