  1. Saw that reporting piece of 'junk' - got to love opinions that sell. I hope that the second dealership (not wanting to metion the name for leagal reasons that place by blackfoot motorsports)has to go through an audit. Just wait till you do the job and the you are getting 'cut' because someone in the warranty aproval office thinks that it isn't a justified claim.
  2. After all the fighting and mental fatigue, and replacing all 8 injectors we have a running 'sick' litre. Thanks for the metal support
  3. Here is a head scratcher, have a truck 08 late build, that will not crank with the key (one touch start system). The truck has an aftermarket remote starter. Able to crank if power directly to the starter solenoid control circuit brown and green wire by passenger side battery. Power to the starter relay at BJB from the ignition switch. Able to crank if jumper wire at the starter relay. Continuity from the PCM to the BJB starter relay. Came to the conclusion the the PCM is unable to supply ground to the start/crank circuit. Anyone have this occur in there shop /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif
  4. the beast in question is a 06 f-450 with 70,500 km showing, 2700 hours (just a bit of idle time). the vehicle is registered to Strathmore Alberta company, owned out of BC, and works out of Fort McMurray. i have dusted engine turning over +200 rpm. so relative compression is just one of the variables that we look at (could have a weak starter) thanks for all the extra brain power to help me think of other ideas/avenues that i should be investigating
  5. similar altitude to denver, little white smoke when injector cackle, injector self test passes (little buzz on each one). think the injector inspection might be in order. it has almost double the hours incomparison to the odometer. cetane boost trick might be in the near future. lets hope it's dusty and we will need the service records to clean it up /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif thanks for the input
  6. having a (blank) of a time trying to figure out a 'no start'. have sync and ficmsync, icp good, relative compression even and rpm at 176, fuel pressure at 55 psi., compression test 270 - 325 fuel is able to ignite (in a spray bottle and add flame /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/flamethrower.gif ) talked to the engineers without any help, anyone have this situtation. all tests pass and still no start argh! any help/comments would be appreciated
  7. just had my first experience with the same junk! Bad bottom end on cylinders #5 & #6 wiped out bearings and tighter than a frogs bum! not cranking at all.
  8. Just replaced the valve body gaskets for delayed 2-3 shift befrore leaving on the trip (600km round trip) no abnormal amounts of "fur" on the magnet and the fluid was normal. 4x4 is ControlTrac automatic enguagment. Haven't been back to work yet to do any real testing, only an real long test drive /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Transmission shifting normally, no harsh upshift or downshift, fluid level is within the operating range, no abnormal smell to the fluid. Will have to get the rig back to work before I can really do any testing. Wifes vehicle, and I work an hour away from home. Just throwing out a question to take advantage of the vast brain pool that is out there. When it comes to transmissions, I'm still putting on the water wings to get into the wadding pool. Flamaz, How was the fluid in the transfer case before disassembly? Thanks for the input.
  9. had the same symptom - i think the oasis term is "losing r.p.m." Had on a few months back chased the codes with no results, contacted hotline and they told me to replace the throttle body. Monitor the 'r.p.m' and 'r.p.m. desired' data hope this helps
  10. Ok, I have tryed to stay away from opening an automatic transmission for the past 15 years, and i must admit it's been a good run! Don't have the most transmisison experience. Vehicle 97 Explorer 5R55E Coming off a weekend trip with the Mrs. and the transmission start to make a fast ratcheting noise. Noise occurs when vehicle is traveling over 110kph and letting off of the throttle. Put it into N and noise goes away, apply a bit of throttle and it goes away. Still has power and drove another 80km to get home. Any ideas to send me on the right direction would be greatly apreciated
  11. Finished reading all your replies about the blown fuse. And just put one in four days ago just before I went on vacation. Hope it's still running
  12. OOOOOOHHHHH! Cananda, the land of great beer and health care. lets here it for no provincial sales tax. And just think you won't have to learn another language
