Last long crank concern I ended up with had an aftermarket oil filter in it that wasn't closing the drainback all the way. It would sometimes crank forever, sometimes start, stall then take forever to flash back up, or sometimes act normally. That's the first thing I changed, drove it around for 3-4 days, and never had a repeat issue. IPR was real low, and I couldn't hear any air leaks. Haven't seen it since for a start/stall concern, just oil changes now that he's learned the oil filter from us is the same price as the aftermarket one, now that he's bought the $60 cap
