  1. I guess I will add to the mystery. I can find no reference to P167F in any 6.4L-specific OBD documents. It is listed in my master code list as a diesel only code but no specifics. I havent had time to check the trans documentation. Long before the 6.4L first came out there was some talk about one byte of the VID block being changed by whatever equipment was programming the ECU but I have since lost that document and I dont remember much about it. That could be what triggers the code but it doesnt turn up in any documentation I can find. It wouldnt surprise me if it was a valid code though, things like that are sometimes hidden even from mainstream calibrators. PATS is done that way.
  2. There are some good pictures on this thread..... http://powerstrokenation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41081&page=3
  3. I think the V10 is going to be a F450-550 fleet option. Here is a video of the instrument cluster key on sequence. Ha ha wrench light is on.
  4. Ok boys, its time to learn http://www.fordvehicles.com/2011superduty/
  5. I don't use IDS much and never to edit vid blocks so I can't say.
  6. Won't IDS let you edit the VID block to lower the speed limit?
  7. I am not going to elaborate too much on which engine(s) are in the F-150's but they arent anything that has been mentioned. I will say we had a truck similar to what Bruce was talking about. I think it was a South American F-250 with a 4.2L I-6. That thing was a real POS. It was like driving a new F-250 with a beat up 6.9L under the hood.
  8. Here is a little slideshow that we released yesterday. It will probably be the only "training" you will see for a while. Excuse the narrators, you can tell they are engineers not public speakers. http://www.slideshare.net/FordMotorCompany/diesel-forum-presentation
  9. Ok, I have typed this out twice already both times this blackberry bit me with its damn microkeyboard and erased everything. I just thought the rumor was funny. The F150 diesel is still in the same place it was last month, on hold indefinitely. There are F150's running around with diesels, some aren't 4.4L's. They aren't 6.7's either. The future of the light diesel depends largely on how the future emission and fuel economy regs pan out. Hopefully that will be more clear by the end of the year. There is a new slightly more fuel efficient gas motor coming for 2011 for those who can't wait for more MPG's out of their truck.
  10. Heres another one to add to the rumor mill... http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2009/09/ford-67liter-v8-power-stroke-figures-leaked-again.html
  11. It is actually www.media.ford.com. You do have to have media credentials to have access to the pictures. If only there was an owner of a prominent diesel website around here that could get access......
  12. There are bigger pictures on pickuptruck.com, jalopnik, autoblog, leftlanenews.......
  13. Very good article about the engine........ http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2009/08/fir...sel-engine.html
  14. I heard that the WBT will be out in Dec and classroom training will start in Jan. Real men don't need training
  15. A fleet manager on one of the diesel sites is claiming the order bank has opened up on the 2011's. Might be worth a trip up to the sales office to see what is available.
  16. Some new pics at http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-f-250-super-duty-2011.html Not a diesel but it doesnt matter for these shots.
  17. The tailpipe is just a normal pipe with a marmon flange so we can easily hook to the emissions bench. The production piece will be different. I cant speak for this truck but the exhaust on my trucks looks the same and it is larger than Jim's estimates. Dont forget a lot of the exhaust will be going back into the engine. The X######## number on the bottom of the trans is so we know which TRID file(dont know if you guys have to deal with that) to request from trans engineering once it is installed.
  18. You Canadians must measure your fuel economy going downhill with a strong tailwind.....
  19. New pictures are posted here http://powerstrokenation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37782 Not a whole lot to see but there are some decent underbody shots.
  20. Diesel or not, I would wait until the end of September/early October before deciding what to buy.
  21. There were some postings about those trucks on the Cummins forums a while back. From what I remember they were produced only for the Mexican market with a few different engines both gas and diesel. If you search on ebay mexico and sites like that they pop up.
  22. "They" must be FSE's because "we" have known for a while... Test mule trannies depend on when they were built. Most have production level now.
  23. Yeah, I could go out to my driveway.....but I won't. I am sure you will be cursing the sight of it soon enough.
  24. Its not a good idea to follow us around, we are trained to shoot first and ask questions later
