  1. As I sit at home recovering from my 3rd surgery in 26 years at the same dealer as a tech. It’s bittersweet as my mind wants to keep going but the body says no more. The owners said they will come up with something for me. It’s definitely nerve racking leaving the position I’ve done for 30 years between 2 jobs. I’m only 47. so guys, take care of your body. The flat rate has ruined mine over the years.
  2. Ford only pays for you to go, you can bring along ur wife or girlfriend at ur expense but she can't go to any ford related activities. And all 3 days you are gone from 630am to 10pm. You get a hour break around 5 to unwind before dinner.
  3. Been away from this site for a few months. The trip was amazing! open bar and great food, touring the Henry Ford museum, (they shut the museum down early just for us with open bar so we had the museum to ourselves) walking Greenfield Village, driving around the proving ground tracks in romeo to seeing f150's rolling out the door every 60 seconds at the Rouge Factory. Meeting with the SLTS group, Hotline, Audit group and many Ford executives. I highly rec anyone that has the chance to go. trip of a lifetime! And btw, my dealer sucks and didnt pay for me to go, I had to use vac time.
  4. I got a 6.4 with a high oil level. HP fuel pump was all ready replaced at another dealer for same concern. seem to take care of it for a few months. Now I got it with the same concern. drained 22 qts out. ran hp fuel test many times, passed. removed both valve covers and ran HP fuel test many times, no leaks anywhere. Even added dye to fuel, resealed injectors and replaced supply lines for good measure. reassembled, marked dipstick, cust brought back a couple days later, oil level climbing again. Hotline said try another HP pump. replaced pump, changed oil and noted level. We drove it many miles without giving back to customer to rule out any tampering, after a few hundred miles.....oil level starting to climb. and it passes the IDS HP fuel test with flying colors everytime.
  5. I won this year and just wondering if anyone here has gone and what to expect when in Dearborn.
  6. I get 20% off my plan being with ford. When I mean plan, the 60 dollar plan rate we have i get 12 bucks off every month. No discount on the two iphone data plans or unlimited text plan. just 20% off the standard plan.
  7. I know this isnt a topic on the Ford message boards. so I thought i'd ask here. Been at the same dealer 16 years, will be sr master this year. Just curious what other shops out there are paying there sr master techs.
  8. Why am I replacing so many 6.7 turbos now. It seems like they are all falling apart at the same time. So much for Fords bulletproof engine.
  9. I just got done replacing a 6.7 for same concern. 76000 miles, Came in locked up. Pulled all glow plugs, #8 broken. Removed injector and used boroscope through hole....Had a nice view of connecting rod. So much for the bulletproof 6.7
  10. I got a 08 6.4, 56000 miles. towed in, No hp fuel. metal in fuel system. Metal came out of every injector line. Ford sent out a inspector, took fuel samples, passed. Got the ok for hp pump, 8 injectors and lines. tore down engine, found hp pump gear very warped. I pulled off one of the piston heads on the pump...total devastation inside! hooked a battery up to starter to check cam gear, also has a wobble. Back and forth with hotline, one guy told me to replace cam, another guy told me to do a short block. Then the first guy calls me back and said thy gave me prior approval for a long block! Anyone else see a damaged cam gear as a result from hp fuel pump?
  11. I did the left head without pulling the engine. I took my time, And to my surprise it wasnt that bad! even though all said and done I had WAY to much time into it.
  12. E-series,Pulling the body on an ambulance....NO THANKS!!!!!!!!!
  13. I have to pull the left head on this damn thing, Been fixing these diesels for a long time now, But never had to pull a head in a ambulance...Anybody have any tips or tricks? Thank you.
  14. 113000 miles, Run great at times. other times it starts chugging wont go over 40mph. No smoke out tailpipe when acting up. Only code is p0088. Will act as if exhaust is plugged. Monitered high pressure fuel...all normal readings. Has anyone had issues with the fuel pressure control valve? Everything test out fine witht the pinpoint test for this code. Oil is full and clean, Truck has a long history of injectors and turbo work done in past at another dealer. Thanks for any help.
