  1. Sorry about the pictures guys, I suck. I ended up talking the manufacturer of the truck. Lenco Armor trucks lencoarmor.com. Guess the body does not come off, even if it did it would be too heavy for most lifts. It was a long journey working from the front as I removed just about everything and then a little more to access. The turbo just squeezed by the body to remove. It was an accurate diagnosis for the pump harness as the TSB suggests. We are very lucky as technicians to have such resources available to aid in our diagnosis. This one had just the slightest wear on the yellow wire in which explains the intermitt no-start and lack of power. It only took me approx. 32 hours to do the job. If you ask for any suggestions on this type of repair for this vehicle? I recommend avoiding the opportunity.
  2. I have a question about removing the cabs. So far I have done quite a few cab offs and overall had pretty good luck thanks to all of my resarch tools I felt very confident even the first time. Although, I have reached a new level of concern after leaving work yesterday>>>>> I have an Armored truck( machine gun on top) F-550 originally in my bay. I am lucky because the nearby Military base will be sending a bunch of these over, I suspect I will get good at these. QUESTION? There is NO possible way to remove this body due to obvious reasons as well as weight of the body. Can you actually put on the harness in question without removing the cab? I have one on the hook with the symptoms. My guess is they should be using an E-Series for this vehicle, but had to use a F-Series due to weight load. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks
  3. Well. it runs great! Customer is very broke, but very happy. Seems he bought someone else's problem at the used car lot. Come to find out with alot of help from Zog, DTS and Ford, we got it fixed. I ended up putting a throttle body on it to rid of egr concerns. It did pin-point test good except at koeo. erratic reading and at times had a mind of it's own. I got rid of the Air Raid system and installed Ford OEM as recommended. I put 8 injectors in it and drained the questionable fuel and debris out of the tank. I added couple of bottles of cetane/relearned egr and she runs like a raped ape! Thanks for your help!
  4. Have you ever heard the song" i get by with a little help from my friends" ? Thanks Zog. Between you, DTS and Ford Tech I have alot of dependable resources. Ths 6.0 will be classified as " school of hard knocks"! I will let you know th fianl outcome of this project.
  5. That's where I will be digging into this morning. So far, I tried to do an EGR systems test using IDS/VCM, it passed until I got to start engine tests and failed due to MAF out of spec. It is slightly out of spec,(1.8v)the truck has aftermarket exhaust and air intake. I spoke with tech hotline and decided to ignore that. I find this website to be so helpful that I always check it out for guidance.
  6. were there any driveability issues with this? i just rececntly had this happen to me and I am at the latest level on ids/vcm. I have driveabilty issues, surge, heitate, quirky idle and poor fuel mileage. no lite on, but ther are dtc's p1334, p0401 p0488. just last week replaced egr and ficm , reprogrammed pcm/ficm/tcm. we did rectify some of the concerns, but still left with the ones i mentioned.
  7. I just wanted to say hanks to everyone that replied. great job guys! Thank for providing us with such as awesome data base. This was my first post and I am very excited about my next already! What I did find was that down in the valley was a substantial amount of pecan shells. underneath are the 2 steel lines that connect to each cyinder head. It would take a while, but after passing through all the shells, it would drain out of the bellhousing. i didn't realize there were lines down there at first, but i am very familiar with it now. Thanks again! Todd
  8. Has anyone seen this before? 2002 f-350, low mileage, mostly idles. starts and runs fine, except it is pouring fuel from bellhousing as if it were leaking oil from rear main. just a quick look yesterday to seen nothing obvious from up top and around the general area. thanks!
