FDRS clear re set functions not working
jw33 replied to Steve Mutter's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
Fdrs is a flaming pile of horse shit, I have been trying to do the adaptive clutch relearn on 2022 F550. It wouldn't recognize the vin from the server hotline gave me the run around sent in a tis request they got back to me and said they weren't sure why that was happening, finally a day later they emailed me back and said they had to manually add the vin to Fords database. Fords computer department is terrible very tired of dealing with it think every damn day it's time to find something else to do -

It would be ok if it wasnt 4000 and is a mandatory tool now. Good thing I never use the hopeline anyways -

Out of curiosity why wont your dealer buy the vcmm package? I cant imagine doing some things without it mostly the vibration analyzer. -
A/C Problems - 2017+ Super Duty
jw33 replied to Keith Browning's topic in Body, Chassis and Electrical
Last f150 i fixed needed a evaporator case to fix , compressor and expansion valve were replaced on previous visit and did not fix. Since case replacement no problems at all , I wish Ford was more forthcoming on information about the problem. -
My dealership layed off 60% of the workers yesterday, all hourly and salary people, kept all the 13 flat rate guys , we had 14 appointments today with 6 schuelded for tomorrow , the sales department has been closed for 2 weeks with just internet sales now , went from 10 cars a day average to 1 one a day , sales manager said this afternoon it's not even worth turning the lights on. Now with the pdcs not delivering parts but 1 or 2 times a week just gonna get worse for the time being.

I have one to do on 2018 gas 250 when it comes off of backorder, i have replaced more wiring harness on the new body style than i care to remember, and no one truck is the same problem

Had a police explorer here with the same problem , took 8 weeks start to finish, our dealership hasn't sold esp in the 7 years I've been here, we use a much easier aftermarket warranty that pays retail times and parts, and there real easy to deal with even on big engine and transmission jobs. Read somewhere a while back that esp still belongs to ford , just a different division of it

Explorer Wheel Bearing Removal
jw33 replied to forddieseldoctor's topic in Driveline: Transmissions, Clutches and Axles
I replace the knuckle and all , not worth the hassle of trying to separate the bearing from the knuckle -
Air conditioned shop is a huge bonus, last year was my first summer working in one, it feels damn good leaving work and still having energy to do things when you get home

I don't even mess with the drain on the secondary, pull the hose on the transmission cooler is a whole lot easier and quicker

Popping through intake on cylinder #2, 2014 F250

Why only partial cab lift? -
People are leaving our dealership at a alarming rate, we sell somewhere around 200 units a month, we are down to 4 tech's and 3 quicklane guys, with no one even coming in to interview, the owner is pissed because we can't keep up and take more appointments. The 4 of us have all about had enough, ford and it's dealers have created one hell of a mess.

I cringe every time I see or hear that stupid bastards name.
