  2. 05 f250 intermittently when hot vehcile will keep cranking and not start whennit does this engine sounds like it's bucking against the started shut key off and retry fires right up no codes at all. Customer replaced cam sensor. Usually happens after a good run shut off and try to restart quickly it happens and every start after engine bucks started but starts but sometimes has a very long bucking episode until I turn key off and retry. When this happens icp is food ipr cycle at 30 sync reads yes and fuck sync says no cam fault says no fuel desired reads during this time. I swapped in a known good pcm and fuck and it still does it. So random its hard to diag. Help
  3. Clear code perform ppt m no problem found few days later comes back. Went ahead and tests pcv and vcv as per wsm no leakage found. At a loss
  4. tryed new idm codes went away after driving codes came back. kept swapping injectors with known. i take it injectors are bad and are taking out the new fidm.. also did compression again for cylinder 8 contribution code and all compression was around 400 and cyl 8 was around 350. never seen one this mild. think this is cause for concern with the blue smoke?
  5. Truck is a 01 f350 When vehicle is under 170 degrees oil temp vehicle has blue smoke. Starts bad and gradually lessons at 150 only has smoke on high rpm acceleration then at 170 it stops and truck is fine. Checked codes had codes for 2 qnd 8 high to low open on injector buzz test few sounded week. Wiring from Idm to uvc was good uvc to injectors were good. So I replaced idm no more circuit codes. Let vehicle warm up and perform contribution and cylinder 8 and 3 was low. Pulled covers and checked compression. They were around 425 when warm and 400 when cold. Replaced injectors. Road tested got air out of system and noticed check engine light randomly coming on and would go out on heavy accel. Come on when you cut back on the foot feed. Checked codes and I have cylinder 8 and 3 contribution still. Buzz test shows high to low open on 2 4 and 6. Checked wiring again all is good. Uvc shows each injector at 2.8-3.1 ohms. What should I do.
  6. another thing with the core supports i had one rub out but i could not see any rub through the wire loom sheeth but as soon as i cut it away i found my wire with a big rub mark. it was for fuse 40 by the way. left core support. red wire i believe

  8. just finished headgasket job after i got done so after going on my road test i came back and had to move it from my stall to do another one. so when cranking i noticed a loud click every few revolutions of the engine and when it finally fires up you can hear a whine like the starter is still engaged. what do you think about the clicking noise when cranking. faulty starter?
  9. Yeah unplugged it and it fired right up power balance was fine minus #3 with injector plugged in the power balance was erratic at best and the vehicle would.stall after a bit of running. Unplug the injector and it would run all day no random engine cutting out and back in like only having icp unplugged
  10. My guess would be back feeding thru ficm to pcm if internal short. Or else it was shorting through the oil rail and feeding through the icp sensor causing the pcm to freeze up as experienced by the ids. I could be wrong
  11. Found the problem. Was an 04. The issue was a internally shorter fuel injector back feeding somehow. Cylinder 3
  12. no codes vehicle will not start with icp pluuged in. tryed a different one. still no start. with icp sensor out of head vehicle will not stall untill you ground it out on the icp sensor in the head or on the battery negative cable etc... also only wire that does this is the vref wire. i removed the signal and ground wire and it still dies out only when vref is plugged in. took the vref and spliced in a new one to egr valve vref and still will not start with icp pluuged in when its grounded. the pins have no continuity to ground nor does the vref wire. i am running out of ideas. vehicle also dies if vref wire is put to ground.
  13. Found the wire. Couldn't see any rub marks on the outer loom mesh. Soon as u cut it open I saw it.
  14. That's a big help. Noticed when pulling down there the test light will light indicating ground. All thanks to your help. Only problem now is Ford shows the wire that I find sorted is a.blue/white wire. One I find is a white/violet. Do you know of a wiring labeling issue for this?
  15. im working on a 6.4l f350. every once and a while when goign to start it the dash lights just shuts off and truck does nothing. found when this happens fuse 27 blows. maybe does it out of 100 starts then it will keep doing it for about maybe 20 key cycles off to start and sometimes if you just let it sit a bit it will work fine. sometimes the fuse wont blow and the starter will just not turn untill you let it sit a bit. the no starter response started before the fuse blowing. when it wont start turn key to on and jump starter wire under hood fires right up. same as when fuse is blowing. putting in a new fuse and then turning key on and jumping starter it will not pop. i have removed the bjb and checked all the related wiring from under dash to the front grill and have found nothing. any suggestions on what to check?
  16. Had exact thing happen before. Was at 13 just a few trim levels from popping the cel. Got declined and sent vehicle out with just dpf. 4 months later its back with bad knocking noise. Cylinder 8 was dead. Hotline wanted oil change recipts along with oil level etc... long story short tore down engine 8 was washed out. Got the long block. That's what they get for turning down the injection because it wasn't missing
