spun main bearings at 31k

first 6.4 engine knock in shop-rem and disassembled-mains toast

removed waterpump and found front cover etched out porosity galore and waterpump impeller ground down. my question why didnt enhanced fail safes disable motor. replaced rad on another 6.4 2nd time.removed waterpump for inspection and what do you know cover is showing signs of wear and porosity at 8k. have anybody else seen this?

Yeah i had one of these also. In my case the shortblock das not making noise and was told by hotline "Its ok, they used marine grade bearings. Just clean it up and repalce the oil cooler along with the timing cover/pump" Guess ill see how long this one lasts.......
