03 Turbo question

I took apart a turbo for my freind's 03 f450. It was coked and the unison ring was stuck.

When i took it off you can see marks like the vanes have been sitting

in place for a while. And complains it had no power for the longest time.

The cam lever spins in a complete circle without resistance and the solenoid works-i bench tested it. Also the lever didnt move when actuating the vgt solenoid.

There has to be oil flowing to the turbo in order for the lever to be moved by the actuator. The actuator directs oil to either side of a piston which moves the lever.

Yeah thats right about the oilpressure. But should it spin 360 like that, i thought i should stop in either direction.

All the other turbos i had apart, i never recall the lever spinning around in a complete circle like that.
