Anyone know what the second icp pressure pid is when diagnosing a 7.3...there are two icp pressure pids. one seems to be the actual reading and the other seems to stay at a fixed pressure then begins to fluctuate like the other icp pressure pid??

Looking for the ford part number for the connector out side the valve cover instead of replacing the whole engine harness...thanks

sure the block isn't magnetized....hahahahaha same exact thing on the one i had that the fsc was spewing magnetism about. sanded block and replace sensor just about three weeks ago and truck still starting...thank god. that one kicked my asss..

well has suspected does not have a magnetized crank.... did scope both sensors and found cmp to intermittent. found that possible air gap issue at the cmp sensor. it appears to a rotting block issue. surface where the sensor mounts is very uneven. did sand as flat as possible today. will try in a.m thanks for the advice. definitely like the back to the future and star trek reply good one......

2004 f550 4x2 with a plow. crank no start after cold soak. no ficm sync, pcm sync, pulse width and cmp fault reading yes. tried new crank sensor,new cam sensor, new ficm, load tested all wiring to and from sensors. good battery power and vref. good icp and fuel psi. good ficm m power never goes below 48 volts appears to have good rpm signal but does bounce between 113rpm to 170rpms while cranking. seems very unstable. heres my question.. fse states poss magnetized crank causing interference with crank signal. in the process of checking this tomorrow in a m with oscilloscope to verify signal. but has anyone heard of this?????????? thanks for any advice.........

thanks but i have that kit and it is for 98 and lower with two connectors per head ..i am looking for 99 and newer with one connector per head. thanks anyways

just wondering if there is a replacement connector part number for the valve cover connector engine harness side on a 2002 7.3. i have a broken one and cust is flipping over the price. thanks

I NARROWED IT BY A LUCKY ROLL OF THE DICE ..IT SKIPS REAL BAD ON START UP SO I USED POWER BALANCE AND FOUND CYLINDER 4 SKIPPING THEN CLEARS UP ..REMOVE INJECTOR AND BORESCOPPED HOLE AND APPLIED PRESSURE TO COOLANT AND NOTICE CYLINDER WAS FILLING WITH COOLANT AND FUEL ..COULD SEE IT BUBBLING OUT OF A VALVE WITH THE SCOPE... HOPEFULLY IT IS ONLY DRIVERS HEAD BECAUSE THAT IS ALL I DISASSEMBLED. THANKS FOR THE INPUT

Anyone seen this. I have one and have narrowed it down to cylinder four ..borescope hole and found fuel leaking in threw valve ..removed head and cylinder four valves and found nothing wrong. in the a.m will send head to be checked for cracks..just wondering if any one has seen this before

little up date ...after two diesel techs spent many hours pondering and talking and test we think we nailed to the central junction box .......we can pull the eec relay and truck keeps running....traced to pin 87 circuit 316 having power all teh time ...we took the fuse panel out and unplugged all connectors but the power post from the battery to power the central junction box we still have power at the relay with evrything disconnected??????? ordered new panel for monday ....god i hope this fixes it ..thanks for the input

Haven't had much diag time on this yet but here it is 2006 f450 big box on it ..with remote start .... truck will not turn off with key turned off.... you can take the key out and truck stil runs and revs up...the only way to kill the truck is pull the ficm relay ...also glow plug light does not come on but glow plugs pass the test ... also lots of u codes for can network failure.. other than that thats all i have right now ..anyone run inn to this ..thanks ...oh ya ..had remote start removed and truck still will not shut off......

who is actually high in diesel.. we were audited about 6 months ago and now ford is comming back again .... today my boss made a comment to me ... "The only way for me to get our numbers down is to turn away all diesel work"....As the only diesel tech in my shop I have always tried to do the right thing with ford and customer...but to have this told to me when i survive on the diesel work .....has it gotten that bad ... lots of threads on the ford sight say every one is high diesel... so If ford knows they have and issue with the 6.0 and the majority of dealers are warrenty high ...then what do you do to get the numbers down other than turn away work??????????????????

level in hpop is full.... and have tried over filling it and jacking rear end too

2003 f450 crew cap ...towed in crank no start ..diag high pressure oil concern pinpointed to high oil pump ..replaced and starts and runs upon road test truck stalls and restarts ???? road test with Pd's and found icp to dropping and truck will hiccup but not stall all the time .... retest system with concerns ..recheck ipr and is reading 8% at idle ... replaced ipr and now is reading 12% at idle ..reroadtest and truck stalls ..icp drops and truck is no start..did noticed oil gauge on dash taking a long time to register when it does register truck will start...back at shop check base engine oil and has plenty ...this appears to be oil related or ipr electrical related but able to isolate which ....trucks goods 75% of the time ...icp drops at 1800 to 2000 rpm and will go from 2000rpm to 600 rpm then catch it self ..... any help greatly appreciated /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby2.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

early 04 f350 third time back with p0401 first time clogged egr ..replaced and clean hole and map fitting retest ok..cust drove 2 weeks light back on ..retest p0401 ..retest all is working fine ..contact hotline and was advised to monitor iat 2 and then clean it and retest ...iat 2 was clogged and did make a difference after cleaning ..one week later light back on p0401 ..i am leaning to possible turbo issue ..any hints or fixes for this ..it has had all the updates and recalls...any helppppppppppppppppppp greatly appreciated

anyone else seen an ipr with a hole in the screen ..this is the first one i have seen ...looking at the bible it appears that the only thing that could cause this is debris from the hpop ...... anyways ..just curious as to what is being seen out there .... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif this happened after i replace two broken injectors and removed engine to find all the parts that were m.i.a ... lucky me /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

the 12 or so i have done ...more than have the heads were the issue not the gaskets ...i am talking about the ones that have not been driven till the stop but the ones cust notices coolant pushing out of degas bottle under load ... the heads are always warpped .... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif -
looking for any info on 7.3 using oil roughly 1quart a week ...compression test passes ..has all new injectors and crankcase psi is 2" of mec per all the specs this engine should not be burning any oil but has a lot oil in inter cooler and inatke tube off of air filter ... turbo is dry and cold side inter cooler tube drips oil out of it ...i am in the process of tearing this engine down and inspecting ...engine is out that is as far as i got .....anywas any help greatly appriciated thanks

wont work on e series head bolt to long to but yes i have used it and does work good but in this case ..thanks anyways for the idea -

well heres another one for ya ....04 e450 skipping ....injectors 2 and 8 broken ...pieces missing ... also number 4 exhaust rocker retainer ( plastic clip) broken and off ..and the only way to replace it is new rocker ..and the only way to replace the rocker is pulll engine ..makes sense ha ...pull motor to replace a ten cent piece of plastic that is now a ball and spring way to go ford
