  1. and just so we all on the same page I do agree with everyday drivers keeping there safety parameters left on.We custom tune everything from street to strip here even on radical combos on the street we leave knock sensors and spark adavance and intake air temp parameters in play!!!!
  2. got it handled threw custom tune sct and a live wire the truck is a off road use only deleted egr coolers deleted twin turbos to one single turbo and deleted dpf with studded arp head bolts and ported heads and after market exaust intake lift and suspension! customer could give a damn about 10,000 dollars he pissess that away in fuel for his off shore boat just wanted to know how to disable light so when hes off roading it doesn't go into limp home! thank you for the reply got it handled!!!!

  4. good point ill know mon.morning looks like its coming back out ive rechecked tightness on converter nuts good and tight im going in again....but you could be right if hole are worn out from being loose before someone has been in before me cause there was socket marks on flex plate to crankshaft bolts and metal shim between trans and block was bent to hell had to straighten back out when i went back together....
  5. oh and i used rotunda special tool to line and center up adapter plate on new converter before installation im stumped...
  6. i have a 03 explorer 2wd 4.6 liter with a 5r55w trans 1st visit in shop costomer complained of a rattle noise at idle from underneath sounded like heat shields on cats but wasnt tried a chassis ear on test drive and noise coming from bell housing.i ran oasis and found nothing really helpful with this so removed trans to find nothing removed flexplate was ok nothing obvious so i priced a torque converter.customer declined to high so we got a dacco converter after market and installed it and seem to be fine at time.2 days later back again so i removed trans installed without converter in and started up noise gone so i knew it was in converter contacted hotline told to put a navigator dust cover on trans with special insulation that comes with cover and it would shield the noise its a normal charateristic.done that helped alot but now only when you turn engine off it makes a loose rattle noise from conveter area check all bolts and starter bell housing everything,thinking the conveter is no good we got any info on this would be greatful thanxs....matthew.........
  7. oops sorry didnt read enough front cover already replaced huh!ive heard of galley plugs coming out of block and dumping oil back to pan causing low base oil pressure but there again its got a new short block whew!id be leaning on the oring on pick up tube and since he did a short block below the bed plate there is a gasket that seal pickup area back to block is it possible he didnt get gaskets right......
  8. ive got a friend at another dealer tell me he had concern and dropped pan found crankshaft main cap bolt somehow broke or come loose hit and damaged pick up tube to where it had no base oil pressure is it possible he has reuesed old front cover and if so the gerotors go inside housing unlike a 7.3 sounds like he needs to check clearance in front cover and go from there....
  9. ive seen injectors due this often very same concern but i would check map,baro,ebp keo all within .5v of each other if pass good road test in parking lot if need be and check back pressure exaust if its got a cat inline and readings wacky try removing it or unbolt fron turbo and bottom and try running truck found that to be a problem with this trashy fuel we all get.... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

  11. yes got all the works had a plymoth voyager int.stumble and die on hard accellaration.scoped the wires found sec.ignition not getting ove 12kv removed dis.cap found rotor button burned into replaced rotor and cap sec.went to 32kv.saved lots of time and dig with this equipment customer had at other shop they replaced ecm,fuel pump,and coil pak when we fixed it they was extatic.man it feels good to work with some great stuff.....
  12. just bought out a independant shop only 3 years old and im a ford certified diesel tech and trans tech 10 years or so.just leased about 20,000 dollars of diag equipment by bosch and ae got ford ids with dell laptop vcm vmm and have chrysler,dodge,honda, toyota,chevy reprogram capabilities.a lab scope thats seems to be a sweet deal you dont have to remove coil packs on fords to test you have a wand you hook up and just touch tops of coils and you can find the ones good or bad.looking for someone who may have invested in some of this stuff and looking for feedback.thank you all.........desltech!!!!!
  13. ok found it i rigged up the porter power you use for 7.3 ipr testing.screwed a guage into icp on right valve cover and hooked porter to test port in hhp cover earlier model 04.full fielded ipr with jump box andf pumped high pressure oil system up to 2000psi found injectors leajin on right bank and 2 on left orings in injetors on top hard and letting oil leak past.....done this test with engine on stand.field rep name is russ hes awsome i told him what i found and he said hes seen this with higher milage trucks like this had 86,000miles and injector seals hard told to replace oil rails to.test i made works like a top to the first person that posted after me ive only been doing this about 10 years and been on diesels for about 5 years everyday....but hey you learn something new everyday right.....thanx for the input and it was something i disturbed the oil rails rep told me it wouldve been ok till i removed them.they are going to get me paid for all the work it wasnt something that i broke rather than something thats was already going out.take care guys talk at you soon!!!!!!!!!matt....
  14. removed engine to replace head gaskets and coolers reinstalled low icp only when hot.360psi right away air tested no leaks heard tried known good ipr same thing.replaced hhp and same thing i give up removed valve covers and removed injectors, drings look ok and oil rail and stand pipes ok dummy plugs on rails ok help please eating my lunch could it be the brach tube im lost at the moment....thanx matt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
