  1. FWIW: this is from Mitchell AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - Complete Charge - [includes: Recover, evacuate, and recharge system. NOTE: When performed in conjunction with other heating or air conditioning repairs, deduct .2.] 1.4 hours CONDENSER - Remove & Replace - [DOES NOT include System Charge.] 1.0 hours. I never do these warranty, let alone retail. I am the only diesel tech at my shop. So I stay busy.
  2. I tend to not fuck with those valves/housings too much. If it don't fuckin' come out with any of the conventional methods (puller, air hammer, plastic explosives...) Housing and valve.
  3. Latest TSB? 21.1 hours to diag by removing all 8 injectors and replacing both cylinder heads in an econoline which includes r&r the engine? Hoorah!
  4. Plates off. Text on RO: UNSAFE TO DRIVE VEHICLE DOES NOT MEET PMCVI CERTIFICATE STANDARDS MTO NOTIFIED, PLATES REMOVED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. In PERMANENT marker. Nice thing about my shop? My boss signs all the certificates, and if you say something isn't safe, it doesn't get signed.
  5. That must be that big ass aluminum sump some of the other guys were talking about in 6-750's and VT-365's on the Inford board.
  6. So I would imagine chafing of that harness could occur pretty easily
  7. The connector was attached, but the harness isn't supported AT ALL, and there's no provision to attach it to anything.
  8. Nope, claim the TSB for the bolts, then claim the customer equipment as MT to the causal part of the whole job.
  9. I noticed that while I had that last truck apart, the harness that runs across that entire side of the truck near the shock tower ISN'T FASTENED TO ANYTHING!!
  10. If it's an 08 I have been successful in claiming M-time for any add on shit (PTO wiring, etc.) and got paid for it under warranty.
  11. Manual trans RMST? That frightens me... What frightens me even more is the guys that install the automatic ones on a stick truck and bypass the clutch switch.
  12. Fuck that noise. I got roadside assistance, and my girlfriend has CAA (same as AAA in the states). I'll change a tire, if it's easy to get out.
  13. How did they break the wiring harness holder over the turbocharger? You dont even need to take the goddamn thing off to pull the cab?!
  14. You can start anything with ether. It works best when the glow plugs are on, even after the "pig's tail" light on the dash is off
  15. Is a family run joint here, I was just playin But that pizza-taco looks pretty damn tempting. I should put the fat joe pic up again...I'm overdue for one of those.
  16. Got this heap done today. New horiz cooler, EGR valve cause I broke it trying to remove it, new DPF and CAT from contamination. Runs good. No smoke. It's sitting in my driveway right now, and now my truck isn't good enough because Amanda's seen a Harley super duty up close, and my truck is just an XLT. LOL
  17. turbo up-pipes are different, ebp pipe is different, elbow where the CAC tube enters the intake is different, DPF/CAT is gone, entire EGR system is gone...plus some other stuff I think I'm forgetting. Shitty day today.
  18. Happy birthday big guy And I meant they don't count, as in I'd eat them. If it looks good, eat it? I could post some... "Good" looking pictures on here....
  19. I had one of them do the same thing and I ended up having to change the DPF on it. Just out of curiosity -- how many miles are on the unit, and how many hours are on it?
  20. Cab off, since I am a cripple. Oh yeah, and Brad?
  21. Don't get me wrong, I have had the old non heat-treated style not able to move, either. Dunno what it is. Maybe the last one done on the friday shift?
  22. Shit, at least keep TWO of 'em around! The last ONE we had on the shelf? Was no good right out of the box. So the customer gets to wait another day
  23. veggies on a taco don't count...lol Where does a feller get one of them tacos?
