  1. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Excu...5fCarsQ5fTrucks Holy god. This quite possibly (aside from the wheel/tire combo, and the headlamps) is quite possibly the sexiest rig I have ever seen. I want it.
  2. Chain hoist ain't that expensive if they've got the right steel girder to hang it from right above your stall. Not worth working somewhere you hate if that was the only high point LOL.
  3. Definitely. Ford makes the best truck, so why wouldn't they be jealous. Dodge's puppy program is in full effect. You buy a new Dodge truck and you get a puppy with it, so you'll never have to walk home alone again. Odds are, the lifespan of the dog is longer than the truck. Sorry, I have a deep rooted hatred for Chrysler products.
  4. "Specially designed so any jackass in a parking lot can drain your crankcase!"
  5. I have the real thick red snap on fender mats, they are almost like a sticky foam. I have four sets, which is enough to cover ENTIRELY, both front fenders with some small magnets strategically placed. The magnets, coupled with the 'sicky' of the fender mats keeps them in place very well. I don't know about the older cabs, but I can have the 6.0 super duty cabs off in about an hour if i'm just puttering along. I think I've set the world record. With my co-op student, He didn't do very much however, I had a 2005 F-350 ex-cab off in 37 minutes, from pulling it into the shop, to cutting the zipties off the motor that are holding the wiring harness and A/C lines and junk to the motor. You also have to consider, are you possibly going to cause some scratches and junk on the body by lifting the cab? What if you slip taking the rear seat out and knock a door into a hoist? (assuming it's a crew) There's so many variables, but personally, I'd just mask everything up with fender mats and pull it out through the front. I'm not sure how you guys do it, but I pull the cooling stack and bumper and all that shit off and take it right out the front, that way I have lots of room. I also typically take the hood off so I can get as much light as humanly possible down in there without having to struggle past a trouble light and fuck around tripping over the cord. Just my .02 Ice Road Truckers is on
  6. You posting through one eye, or too early for Uncle Keith? You put this in the 6.4 section! Just razzin ya. I had a lengthy discussion with a guy from Essex Engine here in Windsor about his disappointment that the new 6.7 is being built in Mexico. However...the 5.0L is....ahem "Assembled in Canada using Global Components" So nothin's made domestically anymore, I guess. At least the 6.4 and 6.0's were built and remanned here.
  7. 100 percent agreement. How many times have you been pulled off a job, only to go back to that job thinking to yourself, what the fuck was I doing?
  8. 6000F or 6000E, I forget which one it was now. I did, however, claim BCE and BCE pinpoint test to change a lightbulb last week, and that went through. I did however check for power and ground, so that counts! .9 to change a bulb. Ching! The first time they bounce that, I'll state that I'll start slamming parts on diesels without diagnosing them, and see how fucking cost effective that is.
  9. 6005F got booted at my store for a rarely claimed labor operation.
  10. ^^^^^ You know, I figured this was gonna happen, as soon as I read the TSB.
  11. I make more than $200 doing them at work under warranty, for crying out loud!
  12. We had a bunch of junk at the indy shop I was at on LPG...exhaust valves burned out of pretty much everything. *Sigh*
  13. Not that it matters, people are just gonna drive the fuckers around with the CEL or wrench lamp on anyhow...
  14. Propane is cool cause it's got an MON of like 394774 so you can run 12:1 compression with 300 degrees of timing and have no detonation issues.
  15. My personal truck idles up and down real fast (about 100rpm) and the VGT actuator goes back and forth really fast when it's up on the cold idle warm up strategy, or up on the PTO, but only when it's warming up. Not sure if this is the same concern you were having. I have no DTC's. Wierd, and hotline says i should compare to like unit, suspect normal operation - I didn't spend an extra $8k to have it idle like shit when it's cold. From time to time it idles like it's got a really big cam in it when it's cold.
  16. 2950 - 2003-2007 F-SUPER DUTY/2003-2005 EXCURSION/2004-2010 E-SERIES VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 6.0L DIESEL - CALIBRATION UPDATE-VARIOUS ISSUES SEE TSB 09-24-03 FOR DETAIL 09-24-03 FINALLY! EOT/ECT spread will set DTC's!!!! FINALLY!
  17. It's next to the high speed muffler bearings. If you get to the halogen headlamp fluid, you're in the wrong aisle.
  18. Only rear noise complaint I have seen on edges was one with sand between the spring isolator and the rear control arm, man does that make a fuck of a noise! Excellent find, Mike. I'd be bald by now if i was working on that machine.
  19. forty fucking dollars a month for this shit...
  20. Year? If you feed 12v to the PTO wire with the park brake on, the truck should idle up to 1200 rpm. I have it set up on my truck to idle at 1200 when it's going to be running without load on it for longer than about 5 minutes.
  21. Surgery...apparently the wait list in the Windsor area is over a year. So they are shipping me about 2 hours up the road to London for the consultation and crap.
