I am going to look at a 86 ranger diesel on saturday. the seller told me that it is a texas truck and is rust free, but it has been sitting for the last 10 years and doesn't run. I have been searching to see if parts are somewhat available and for the most part I can still get injectors,timing belts, and so on. My main concern is the turbo, I think that it will need to be rebuilt or replaced because of sitting so long. I am afraid that when I get it running that a seal in the turbo will go out and I will have a runaway. Anyone know of a place that either rebuilds or sells rebuild kits? any other suggestions are welcomed.

Do you have the autoenginuity program on your's? If so how do you like it?

I am looking for any suggestions for a scan tool. I work at a Ford dealer and the only diesel tech there and we only have one ids. I am tried of always waiting for the ids. I am thinking that I am going to buy a vcm and use it as a PDS, because I already have the Hp pocket pc. The only second guessing that I am doing is that I also do some side work and would like a scan tool for all makes. Any suggestions would be greatly appericated.

I just lifted my first excursion body today and was wondering if the body bolts are suppose to be different head size from side to side. Lifting the body is the best I wish I started lifting cabs years ago.
